There is a short intro to our podcast coming after the RBC Heritage PGA golf tournament held in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  Casey was brought into the conversation and he joined us again aboard his new sailboat. We talked about the last day of the tournament falling on Fathers day.  The telecast featured numerous mentions of fathers and sons and the eventual winner Webb Simpson was a father of five who had lost his own father a few years ago. Casey mentioned how most of us were introduced to the game by our own fathers. It is a unique game that can be started at a very young age and played into your 80's or even into our 90's.   

Casey talked about the 2 and a half hour weather delay because of a lightning storm in the area. It obviously changed the dynamic and sucked the momentum from some of the golfers. The delay put the finish and the Sunday and Fathers day completion in jeopardy.  

Casey was impressed by  the -22 winning score and the logjam of players at the top. He stated that the course was playing nice and the greens were receptive and you didn't have to bomb it out there. When the main coverage on CBS started Dylan Fratelli had taken a two shot lead by blazing to a 62 final round score! Justin Thomas then joined the party at 17 under as well  and could have gone lower but the rain delay seemed to derail his mo and he finished with a 63.  We talked about Abraham Ancer, Tyrell Hatton among others who had a real shot to win this tourney. Casey was impressed by Daniel Berger, Brooks Koepka, Sergio Garcia and Joaquin Niemann who all had good showings in the tournament.  Casey then brought up Canadian Corey Conners who put together three good rounds but for the second straight week had a disappointing final round. He finished a very respectable 14 under and has really been driving the ball well, he had 90 to 1 odds to win at the beginning of the week so Casey put some money down on him.  He also had an 8 game parlay bet and unlike last week when he hit them all he just came up one short.  We got into a great discussion of this tournament and you should listen to the breakdown especially if you missed the TV coverage. We brought up Nick Watney as the first player to be diagnosed with the corona virus and he had to withdraw after the first round, The PGA tour is doing tests very frequently and is expecting more positive tests in the coming weeks.

Tune in for another great podcast from The Complete Sports and Media Coverage team.  Today we are featuring a great conversation with a veteran of the combat sports world Stephane Cappellini.  Capo has competed in combat sports and worked with his local athletic commission to help put on events.  We have a short introduction to the show as we start talking about the UFC. After the pandemic hit North America and postponed and cancelled events the UFC was able to eventually return. We began talking about the events in Florida and Las Vegas after the sport had returned with no fans.  We all have been missing live sports and with hard work the UFC has started to fill that void. We introduced Stephane and welcomed him to the show.  Our conversation started by speaking about the difference we noticed with no fans in the stands at these latest live event fight cards.  We briefly discussed the rumors of Mike Tyson fighting Shannon Briggs or Evander Holyfield.  The focus quickly shifted back to the UFC and the latest pay per view UFC 250 and the main event featuring Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer.  After a brief discussion about the dominant performance by Nunes we shifted into discussing the other fights on the card. We began to specifically speak about the bantamweight fights beginning with Cody Garbrandt and his big knockout victory over Raphael Assuncao.  

Stephane mentioned Garbrandts jujitsu coach Ricardo Almeida and we brought up his new Striking coach Mark Henry and his original team Team Alpha Male.  Sticking with the bantamweights we marveled at the submission victory by Aljimain Sterling over Cory Sandhagen.  Then transitioned into talking about the big knockout win by Sean OMalley over Eddie Wineland.  To cap off UFC 250 we talked about Cody Stamman and his win with a heavy heart after his 18 year old brother had passed away recently.  We then turned our attention to the latest fight announcement of the card for UFC 251,  It was revealed just hours before our conversation  that the card would take place on Yas Island called "Fight Island" in Abu Dhabi on July 11th.  This card is scheduled to feature three world title matches.  We started by talking about the Title fight in the Bantamweight division between Petr Yan and Jose Aldo. The belt is on the line because of the retirement of Henry Cejudo and so the title was vacated. The Main event of UFC 251 features the Champion Kamara Usman defending his belt against Gilbert Burns.  We discussed some of Burns last fights and the merits of his title shot. We shifted to the third title fight on the card that would see a rematch between Featherweight Champion Alexandre Volkanovski vs Max Holloway.  Volkanovski took the belt from Holloway on December 14, 2019 by unanimous decision.  Stephane questioned how Holloway could comeback in such a relatively short time and get a victory and getting beaten quite badly the in first match. Our great conversation was concluded with some discussion on the recent announcement of Georges St Pierre getting nominated for the UFC Hall Of Fame.    It was a great breakdown from one of our favorite analysts and we look forward to many more discussions in the future.

We started discussing the UFC 250 card from Las Vegas that featured a main event dominated by the two weight class champion Amanda Nunes. She was defending her women's Featherweight belt agains a very tough but over matched contender, Canadian Felicia Spencer.  Jason had great observations and impressive take on the three men's Batamweight fights on the card that really started clering up the picture in the weight class. Henry Cejudo defended his belt and then surprisingly retired after his fight at UFC 249. This left the majority of the top fighters in the weight class knowing so much more was riding on these fights to show if they were contenders or pretenders.  Huge knockouts by Cody Garbrandt and Sean OMalley and a slick and swift submission by Aljimain Sterling were all discussed and admired.  There was talk of the dominance of Justin Gaethje from UFC 249 and we also capped off our MMA talk happily rejoicing over George St. Pierre getting nominated for the Hall of Fame during that same card.  Much love and respect to a true pioneer of one of the greatest to ever grace the Octagon.  

Our focus then shifted to the unfortunate murder of George Floyd and the shocking reversal of opinion from Roger Goodell the Commissioner of the NFL.  Goodell had posted a message a few days before stating how the NFL had been wrong in their handling of the protests  and kneeling to shed light on racism, police brutality and racial inequality in the past. He vowed they would do better and support the cause now moving forward.  It was a great moment and showed that the protests had really gained traction and might have finally reached a tipping point and could invoke change.  It was good to also look ahead to an interesting  upcoming NFL season.   

Speaking of upcoming seasons that was part of the discussion when we spoke of the NBA. There is a sense of excitement about the new parody and possibility of new teams emerging in the power struggle at the top. There was talk also of the teams in the West that will be fighting it out for the eighth and final playoff spot. The Memphis Grizzlies  currently occupy the 8th and final spot with 5 teams in the hunt chasing them for the final 8 game regular season stretch drive.  The super rookie point guard Ja Morant should solidify his hold on the rookie of the year trophy if his team can hold off the other teams.  However one of the teams chasing the Grizzlies is the New Orleans Pelicans with their own phenomenal rookie Zion Williamson.  if he can deliver a playoff spot for his team he might just win that trophy himself despite missing a huge chunk at the start of the abbreviated season.  It will be fun to watch!  Finally we discussed Boxing and the first card scheduled after the pandemic. The amazingly talented Shakur Stevenson was about to take on another challenger as he works his way towards the upper echelon of the pound for pound best in the sport.  It was a great discussion all around as the time flew by and we were thrilled to get back to some sense of normalcy in our lives.

Podcast conversation with one of our favorite people on  the planet the always dynamic Jason Cameron.  We covered a lot of topics today starting with the new NBA coalition headed up by Kyrie Irving, Avery Bradley and Dwight Howard.  This coalition is trying to get NBA player support to boycott the NBA season and not go into the Orlando " Bubble" that will be where the 2019-2020 season is scheduled to resume.  Mr Cameron eloquently described his displeasure in Kyrie and him not using his voice to give a clear and concise plan.  The fight for Social injustice, police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement needs to continue of course. We both wonder that how this coalition honestly believes that by not playing their support will be heard louder than by resuming the NBA season.  Jason went on to say that the NBA players will undoubtedly be able to do their job and continue to further their support for the causes that have been taken up after the murder of George Floyd.   

Switching gears to the NFL to discuss another week  and another video message from Commissioner Roger Goodell. Last week Jason expressed his disbelief and amazement that Goodell and the NFL owners admitted that they were WRONG in not listening to the NFL players  concerns earlier on racism and the systematic oppression of black people. A lot of opinions were shared on the videos contents and apology.  There was some criticism that in the message Goodell didn't refer directly to Colin Kaepernick who four years ago led the players taking a knee to oppose police brutality and racial inequality.  Kaepernick became a civil rights activist and lost his NFL career as the league allegedly colluded to keep the former 49ers QB out of the NFL since 2016.  This time Goodell did finally address Kap and said he has encouraged NFL teams to sign the QB.   

The UFC June 13th card was then discussed as we broke down most of the fights on the card. The three fights at the start of the card and four of the first five that all lasted less than a minute. Tyson Nam was the first fighter spoke about how impressive his performance was getting a knockout in 32 seconds over Zarrukh Adashev. We talked about the former hockey enforcer Christian Aguileras UFC debut ending in a knockout over Anthony Ivy in 59 seconds. There was discussion on the main event with Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillos dominance over her with takedowns.  The other fight featured was Andre "Touchy" Fili and Charles "Air" Jourdain who had an amazingly compelling three round technical fight with all elements showcased.  Then we spoke about the next UFC card that is to take place in Vegas June 20th. The main event is Curtis "Razor" Blaydes vs Alex Volkov which has the potential for an epic battle.  Josh Emet and Shane Burgos willface each other in the co main. Then we discussed the two veterans Jim Miller and Clay Guida on the cards and the fun it will be to be watching them in the twilight of their respective careers.

This is a breakdown of this past weekends PGA return to play at the Colonial tournament in Fort Worth Texas.  There was a 13 week shutdown of the tour due to the Corona Virus.  It was tough for golf fans especially as this is when the season is typically in full swing. 

 We had a short intro before welcoming Casey onto the show. He was joining us from his new sailboat.

 We forgot to ask if he was parked beside or near Tiger's yacht "Privacy"! There have been many sightings of Mr Woods Yacht around as people try and speculate where his is in the world and that could shed some light on when he will return to tournament golf.  

Casey began by saying that the Champion of the tournament Daniel Berger was a little hungrier for the win compared to Brooks Koepka and Bryson Dechambeau. We both observed the immense size that Bryson has put on his frame and overall physique.  "Did you see him next to Justin Rose he was twice the size of him" Bryson is changing so much in his swing and with the added size he noticed some rigidity on some of his shots. he thinks that if he can just calm down and control some more of those shots he will lap the field in some tournaments. Bryson was the talk of the tournament because of this workout regiment he was on during Covid-19.  Casey brought up the fact that the golfers were still sharp despite the layoff.  His statistic was impressive as he said that 16 golfers shot all of their four rounds in the 60's. Even with no tournament play they still shot low scores.  Casey smartly made the point that some of the wayward shots guys had would have typically hit grandstands and places where fans would be congregated normally so that gave them better opportunities at salvaging scores. The biggest aspect of no fans that we at Complete Sports observed was when Sung Kang made a hole in one and nobody cheered "there were crickets" and Kang didn't even know that it had went in.  

Casey then wanted to breakdown Xander Schauffele"s day he hit a 30 foot bomb for bogey on 15 then hit another long putt on 16 for birdie then the "Power lip out on 17"  golf can be so cruel. We discussed how many guys had a shot at the title but so many putts that just missed or lipped out.  Daniel Berger had finished 9th, 5th and 4th in tournaments before the break so it was good to see he was able to continue his hot play and get a huge win over a world class field.  We both noticed how Berger had come from behind and wasn't in the last few groups so he was able to post a number and let the other guys have to try and match or beat that -15 score. When Collin Morikawa stepped up to his short putt on 18 they showed a shot of Berger watching the putt that if it is holed wins the tournament for Morikawa and he pulled it. Once Schauffele fell off the pace there was a two man playoff. Morikawa hit it way wide right off the tee and had to scramble to get in position to have another short putt to tie the hole and send it to more extra holes but missed his chance again and handed the win to Berger. 

We spoke a little about Olympic View Casey's home course when he is in Victoria and Duncan Meadows when he is up the Island. It was a great conversation and nice to have a lot of golf to breakdown and discuss.

Complete Sports Media is thrilled as usual to bring the insight and wisdom of Scott Holburn to our platform.  We started off this conversation by talking about how meaningful and important mixed martial arts has been to our lives.  It really is an amazing sport and Scott describes it as good as anyone "It's an excellent skill to have and excellent form of exercise and discipline and great for self defence and self esteem I can't say enough about it." The sport is looked at as a individual sport but it is definitely a team sport. There are some very prominent teams like AKA ( American Kickboxing Academy)located in San Jose, H Kickboxing and HardKnocks 365 headed up by Henri Hooft in Florida, Team Alpha Male in Sacramento California started up by Uriah Faber.    

We brokedown the UFC card from the Apex in Las Vegas from June 13th.  The prelims turned out to be stellar as four of the first five fights ended in the first minute. Tyson Nam blew everyone away with his lightning quick knockout victory in 32 seconds.  Christian Aguilera impressed in his UFC debut as he knocked out Anthony Ivy in 59 seconds. Julia Avila " Raging Panda" came out guns a blazing and overwhelmed Gina Mazany and got the TKO in 22 seconds.  The main event was a showcase performance for Cynthia Calvillo who had moved up a weight class to face the #1 contender Jessica "Evil" Eye.  The Andre "Touchy " Fili won a split decision over Canadian Charles "Air" Jourdain that was a fight of the night contender and highly entertaining 15 minute battle.  Maria Agopova also looked incredibly impressive in a round one submission victory.  

  We also looked ahead to the UFC upcoming card in Las Vegas featuring Curtis "Razor" Blaydes  vs Alex "Drago" Volkov.  This card was scheduled to take place on this date in Saskatoon, Canada.  The main event should be a great fight and will elevate the winner very high up in the heavyweight ranks. Both of us thought that the co-main event had a lot of potential as Josh Emmett takes on Shane Burgos.  Then we discussed the inclusion of veteran Jim Miller on the card as he takes of young and relative newcomer Roosevelt Roberts.  This is a classic young vs old matchup. Clay Guida is also a veteran and he will bring energy into his fight with struggling Bobby Green.
