    "I suffered from caregiver fatigue." - Maureen Elias

    Maureen shares her journey from a structured military career to the unpredictable world of caregiving.     Raising three children on the autism spectrum, Maureen pursued a master’s in mental health counseling, leading to roles in top veteran service organizations, the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. She also teaches storytelling to veterans and has recently embraced off-roading as a newfound passion.

    Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Tara Ross split time between Marin County and the Haight-Ashbury district following their parents’ divorce. Growing up in a creative household, they were drawn to the arts, ultimately choosing graphic design as a career path.

    In 2006, while attending community college, Tara met John. After a year of dating, he made the life-changing decision to join the Navy, enlisting in the Submarine Service—a choice that initially seemed to offer a sense of security from the dangers of military life. With a grandfather and uncle who had served, Tara was no stranger to the physical and emotional toll the military could take on both service members and their families.

    The couple married in 2008, embarking on a journey that took them from Groton, Connecticut, to San Diego, California, where they built their life together amid the challenges and sacrifices of military service.

    By sharing her story openly, she hopes to spare others from the challenges she faced, aiming to reduce suffering and unnecessary work for caregivers. Her style is clear, real, and relatable, offering insights that are both effective and manageable.

    With her background in producing, Katrina co-created the web series Therapeutic Fibbing, which combines real-life caregiving scenarios with learning and a touch of lightness to connect with caregivers of those living with dementia. The series has resonated with over a million viewers, offering relatable insights. Her latest project, Things Not To Say To A Caregiver, uses humor to highlight the real-life challenges caregivers face, showing these situations in a way that feels both authentic and reflective of their experiences.

    In 2023, Katrina was recognized with the Caregiver Advocacy Award from the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence. 

    She’s passionate about driving real change for caregivers and those living with chronic illness, collaborating with nonprofits, researchers, politicians, and healthcare professionals.

    Katrina understands that even small actions can have a big impact, and her commitment to improving the lives of those around her leaves a lasting impression.     Tracee Loran is a versatile actress, writer, producer, and content creator based in New York City.Her career took an unexpected turn when, during her first acting role, she was invited to join the writers room, which opened doors to numerous writing and production projects.

    Tracee has appeared in national TV commercials for renowned brands such as HBO, FedEx, AT&T, Arby’s, and Sony. For the past six years, she has balanced her time between New York City and Mississippi, where she lovingly cared for her 97-year-old grandmother.

    She is the creator of Black History Baddies, a celebrated video series with over 1.5 million views across social media. 

    Tracee was inspired to create the series during her time in Mississippi after reading about Claudette Colvin, an unsung civil rights pioneer. The series spotlights the achievements of Black women trailblazers who deserve greater recognition. Tracee passionately amplifies these stories to empower and inspire.

    In this one-woman show, Tracee takes on multiple roles: she writes, acts, directs, edits, researches, and handles cinematography and costume design—all on her own.
