We think right = good AND wrong = bad.
And We put so much pressure on ourselves to get it right.
In our jobs, in our relationships, with our decisions, with our businesses we feel this constant pressure.

  • Toxic Positivity Vs Positive Reframing

Toxic positivity is the assumption that you should be positive all the time even in difficult situations.
This approach is damaging because it doesn’t allow room for how we genuinely feel & it further re-enforces the lie that we shouldn’t feel bad or we shouldn’t experience negative emotions, which simply isn't true.

The positive reframe is acknowledging what’s going on - what feels true for you & exploring what else you know to be true through a more encouraging & supportive lens.
When the time is right positively reframing our experiences help us move forward & feel better.

  • Worry windows

In this episode we explore the idea of worry windows & how to create a specific window of time in which we can worry. Instead of spending so much of our time worrying unnecessarily & robbing ourselves of enjoying our lives.

Our brains love to worry & create problems.
This often leads to looking for problems where there aren't any & creating unnecessary suffering. Instead lets create a future time to worry about this IF it does become necessary.

  • People pleasing + social conditioning

We absorb messages throughout our lives that form our opinions of how we should act & what we should or shouldn't do in our lives.
This social conditioning is the reason that we, as women, people please.
We are constantly taught to under value ourselves, to go along, to not make waves or speak up.
In this episode we explore the way out of people pleasing & towards having your own back .

  • Healthy boundaries + saying no

When saying yes creates bitterness or resentment, then saying no is the most honest & loving thing we can do. Saying no is saying yes to ourselves.
How we say no matters. Often we leave room for second guessing & discussing our decision - In this episode we explore how to say no with confidence.

Saying no isn’t a boundary. Saying no AND follow through with action is a boundary.
We explore the difference between healthy & unhealthy boundaries. Plus Xena shares 3 simple steps to use when setting boundaries.
