    Introducing Rachel Gibler

    - Rachel Giber is a manifestation and mindset coach who is embracing every aspect of who she is!

    - Everything she does is based on principles of mindset and spirituality. She created a space she didn't see before; a space that is welcoming to all women.

    - Her mission is to allow women to see the possibilities for themselves. No matter where they came from, what they've done, or what shame they hold on to. She represents women who don't have it all together and can still be successful.

    Rachel's Story

    - She had a strong support system until her dad passed when she was 16.

    - Senior year was really lonely, confused, angry; but on the outside she tried to keep it all together. She had no basis for a belief system outside of herself, meaning she wasn't spiritual or religious. Without any framework, she spiraled.

    - In college, she pretended everything was OK with no direction or sense of self. She was abusing drugs and alcohol, and was in a bad relationship.

    - After she, Rachel worked a corporate job in sales, putting on a mask and pushing through her pain and brokenness.

    - On workdays she worked a lot, on the weekends she turned to drugs. She felt a lot of shame. She felt as if she was running on a hamster wheel she couldn't get off of. She wanted time to stop and rest.

    - Ever since her dad passed away, Rachel heard a voice in her head saying "This won't be all for nothing," and she knew she was going to do something with her life. At this point in time, she ignored it.

    A Wake Up Call

    - A few years ago, Rachel heard the voice again, "you need to stop, you're going to kill yourself. Make something out of this".

    - She was in a freak accident, blew out her knee, and was forced to take medical leave from her job, move in with her mom, and get sober.

    - An epiphany: "I got everything I asked for. Time stopped for me."

    - "I decided, I can either go on like this and in 3 months have nothing to show for it. Go back to my job, my friends, go back to this life I fucking hate. And have wasted this gift. Or I can sit here in bed and change my life. And that's exactly what I did."

    - "It didn't start big. It didn't start knowing where the hell this is going. I took my computer in this fleeting moment of faith and I googled "How to be happy"".

    - Rachel learned all she could about successful people. She wanted to be an entrepreneur, and joined her first life coaching program. She quit her job, left her friends and her relationship, and started the Lash Lounge.

    - She knew she would be lonely for a few months while she transitioned. Through the hard times she remembered the voice saying, "This won't all be for nothing".

    - A year later, she shared her story, which brought her to coaching. Her community grew as she became more vulnerable.

    - At this point, she owns 3 businesses, has amazing people around her, and feels good about where life is going.

    Do it Anyway

    - Sometimes there are things calling us and we choose to ignore it, but it will always come back. She chose to let it guide her. The fear of the unknown didn't scare her.

    - It's OK to trust it even if you don't know. You can know and feel you're meant for more.

    - The epiphany was a fleeting moment, a spark of faith. If she hadn't taken action in that 5 second window before she talked herself out of it, she wouldn't be where she is. She did this through the fear. She was afraid. She was terrified all the time.

    - "You just figure it out as you go and build that mental muscle of being able to show up through not knowing the steps".

    - "Things aren't gonna change until we change them within ourselves."

    - Had a drive to change because she had nothing else to lose, but you don't need to reach rock bottom before you make a change.

Advice for people who feel stuck in an environment and want to shift?

    - It's important to grounding yourself in an environment that allows you to flourish.

    - She was very afraid of being alone. Our primitive brain tells us that if we lose our pack, we'll die.

    - Rachel learned to let herself off the hook for the ways she hadn't walked away before. There's a shame of not leaving, a lot of emotions attached to our actions. Release yourself from the expectation and realize, "it's just my humanness here, and I can consciously make a decision."

    - There's a common limiting belief of "I cannot make friends outside of college."

    - "There's an entire world out there that you can be a part of if you chose to make different decisions".

    - She mentally prepared herself for ripping off the bandaid. More can't come in if you're already energetically attracting things you don't want.

    - "You have to trust that there's an entire world out there waiting for you if you're willing to go find it. Approach it with a playful curiosity. Think Hmm what could I do differently?"

    - Do something different. Join different groups, go to different coffee shops. You'll gain confidence by showing up.

    Release and Do Things Differently

    - If you're putting energy into things you don't want more of, nothing will change.

    - You don't need to add things on, sometimes you need to rest and let go.

    - You have to take a step back, slowly, pull yourself back to propel yourself forward. You'll go much faster if you do that. otherwise you'll burn yourself out. You have to give yourself permission to slow down, take time for yourself, and be by yourself.

    - Rachel hated being by herself. Didn't want to be aware of her thoughts when she was by herself. Often looked for distraction and ways to occupy her brain.

    - "You'll be able to grow faster when you stop avoiding yourself and clear that space for you to be. Then you'll call in the right things. "

    - People are afraid of where they fit in. They think, "I'm not interesting enough" and that they don't fit in.

On getting into business and online space:

    - About a year into her self development work (not spirituality), she made connections with some entrepreneurs but had no framework for how online business worked. No understanding of how to make money, and was very impressionable.

    - She wanted to empower women to speak about mindset principles. How you transition from shame and things that hold you back, and how to shift those. She heard somewhere that you can't make money as a mindset coach. This spoke into her fear.

    - Everyone was asking her about her social media. She loves the creative side. People asked her how she did things around that. They said she was inspiring, but then they were more interested in the social media presence.

    - She abandoned herself and her mission to do social media coaching. It worked, and made lots of money pretty quickly because she's good at it.

    - She wasn't happy because it wasn't authentic to her, and felt trapped again.

    - She pulled the plug on the whole thing. It wasn't her and didn't feel good.

    - She took a small step back and assessed what she's done and the life she wants.

    - She wants to be a coach, but knows she's a hot mess. She's not all buttoned up and didn't feel authentic being in the 'box' of the mindset coach. She didn't feel like she could be a coach because coaches have the "perfect mindset"

    - Looked for her identity in another place and found spirituality. Followed spiritual entrepreneurs. Not as "woo" as everyone else. She approaches with skepticism.

    - Recently, she decided to step into where she is. Found the women just like her. Not fully 'woo' but still mindful and spiritual. They don't have it all together, but mindset has helped them. They still want to be successful but I don't feel perfect.

    - She built her brand around that, it feels the most authentic and it's truly her. "Took taking steps back constantly, swallowing my ego and my pride, restarting over and over again until I got to this spot. "

    What's in the Future?

    - Rachel is launching a podcast in May 202, "Manifestation, Men and Money"

    - She plans on hosting mastermind retreats

    * Trigger warning: This episode touches on disordered or restricted eating

We Grow Up With Food Rules

    - Things we're taught at a young age stick with us. Some food rules I heard were "Rolls make Rolls" and that rice and corn were for pigs.

    - When we go against these engrained "rules' it leads to guilt, shame, and even actions if you ever feel full.

    - If you're struggling with these things and taking action, please seek professional help.

    - Other rules we've heard:

    - "You're not supposed to feel full, you're always supposed to feel a little hungry".

    - Quick fixes exist

    - All fat is bad

    - Restrict calories extremely

    - Food as a reward, treat it as a treat

    - If you 'eat bad' you need to punish your body (cardio, disordered eating, guilt)

    - Carbs are bad

    - If you want to lose weight don't eat

    - Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

    - Food as Fuel: no cheat days and no snacks. If you approach food that way, you're missing out on life. You focus on what you cannot eat.

    - Things we're being taught because our worth was tied to fitting into a smaller size.

    - IF you center weight loss around the ideas society tells us, that's BS. You'll be unsatisfied if you lose weight for someone else.

    - You can't say 'no' to every experience that revolves around food.

    Knowledge is your Power

    - If you know the truth around these "rules", you can break up with the "good" and "bad" foods, and break up with the rules.

    - When you have knowledge, you can become an active particpant in your choices.

    - Understanding macro nutrients gives you the way to find balance within your body.

The Truth About Diets and Programs

    - All these fad diets are designed for you to fail.

    - Many are old diets that are repackaged with 'hot phrases'. Weight watchers, adkins, south beach, keto, etc.

    - They want you to fail, becuase then you'll come back and spend more money. The finger is turned on you for not being 'disciplined' enough. That's BS.

    - All these diets are a short term solution.

    - The long term solution lies in solving the underlying issues of mindset and habit.

    - The answer is NOT cutting everything out of your diet. When you do that, you're unhappy and frustrated.

    - Companies profit off of your insecurities.

    The Diet Cycle

    - Fad diets and programs cause a cycle of miserable-ness.

    - You feel shame, restrict yourself, binge, feel guilty and shame, and restrict yourself again. You feel out of control and trapped in this cycle.

    How to Break the Cycle

    - Rules don't work. They keep you in the "restrict, binge, guilt" cycle.

    - Break up with the Rules and Mindless Eating

    - The rules say "Food and Fuel" and "Stop Emotional Eating". I call BS again.

    - Having emotion attached to food is not bad. Feel thankful that your body is getting food and you're creating energy. You can show yourself love, and others love, through the food you're eating.

    - Let's focus on what matters to you when it comes to food. What makes you happy? Incorporate those into your diet.

    - Once you know what you want, you can find a balance that works for you. I do 80/20. I focus on whole foods and high protein and fiber. My 20 percent is the food that's more than just fuel. I call this "soul food".

    Personal Example: Ice Cream

    - I used to struggle with eating an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's by myself. I felt guilty and ashamed, I sometimes made myself get sick afterwards.

    - My solution was to get ice cream out of the house.

    - This did not work. I found ways to justify it, like "I NEVER have this."

    - New Solution: I found a new option. Instead of feeling guilty, I found Halo Top ice cream. Eating a whole pint was more doable.

    - Next step: Intentionally choosing how much I'd eat in one sitting. Putting it in a bowl, adding fruit, and enjoying it. I was no longer shame eating.

    - The Result: I developed a better relationship with ice cream. I got used to having it in the freezer and not eating it all the time just because it was there. I could switch back to Ben and Jerry's again.

    - By taking the time to step back and get intentional, I recognized something about myself. Later at night, I don't make good choices. Now, I try to have dessert earlier in the evening so I am actively eating it and breaking up with 'mindless eating'. I gained more knowledge about myself, and therefore more power.

    - Knowledge is power. It's very helpful to know what you're putting in and understand macros before you can switch to intuitive eating.

    Seeing an Opportunity

    - The pandemic has opened up a lot of opportunity for virtual businesses

    - The 'mainstream' fitness industry focuses on losing weight or trying to fit in. There was an opportunity here to be themselves and preach a different message of confidence and self-acceptance.

What made them decide to take the leap?

    - If you don't see someone else doing it, you could fill that role. Ask yourself, What am I waiting for? Why am I holding back? It's easy to get caught up in comparison.

What does representation mean for you?

    - When you don't see anyone else doing it, you don't think it's possible. They're moving for the joy of it, and showing others that it is possible to workout without the end goal being weight loss.

    - By living their truth and sharing it on their platform, they're showing people that they are free to live in this way. You can feel safe, confident, powerful, sexy after a workout.

-Instead of letting "there are very few women of color who own fitness businesses" keep Dani Dom from starting they used it as inspiration to BE THAT REPRESENTATION

    - Their approach to their classes was about more than just inclusion in the fitness industry but creating a class environment that felt safe!

What lessons have you learned along the way?

    - There are pitfalls, and you pivot instead of falling. At the end of it, you're happy that you kept going.

    - A lot of people fear the unknown. The "What ifs". You can't let those stop you.

    Biggest takeaways from this experience:

Even if you're scared, do it anyways. Your mess is someone's amazing. Just go for it.

Do you feel like you want to make change, but something is holding you back? Do you feel like you're doing everything right, but something just isn't clicking? This episode will walk you through how to cultivate change and provide fertile ground for your roots to grow.

It's the beginning of spring time, so today we are talking about intentionally planting seeds in fertile soil in order to cultivate growth over a long period of time. How are we going to do this?

    • Think about what kind of 'fruit' we want our tree to grow
    • Redefine our goals and set intentions around this
    • When we see other people's trees and their fruit, we often overlook the roots. The roots give the tree nourishment to live and thrive.
    • This type of comparison isn't beneficial for us. We're worried about the other trees we see, instead of our own.

What kind of soil do you need? Let's do an Environment Audit:

    • What are you currently doing in your life and is it supporting the life you want to live?
    • Evaluate your habits, are they nurturing you?
    • Look at what you consume and what you're taking in. Are you creating more than you're consuming?
    • If we're consuming more than we create, we're not taking action. You may be caught up in analysis paralysis.
    • Who are we surrounding ourselves with? Are they negative influences for us? If this is the case, it's important to set boundaries (listen to my episode on that here: 011 Stop Being a Robot: The Power of Intentions)
    • Audit your self talk. What do you think about yourself? How do you speak to yourself? Catch yourself when you start thinking negative thoughts about yourself, work to pour positivity into your life.

    Mindful and Intentional Change

    • Change is a beautiful thing. With change, there are things we need to release in order to redefine who we are.
    • You don't need to change everything you are and who you are. It's easy to get consumed with an 'all or nothing' mentality.
    • The 'all or nothing' mentality isn't sustainable. You shouldn't want to fundamentally alter who you are, you want to embrace your most authentic self.

How do we create this growth? We need to have strong roots.

    • What does my fruit look like? What's my highest self look like? Have a vision and big picture.
    • This is where most people stop.
    • We want to see that big dream, and break it down. Reverse engineer it. What small steps can I start to take?

How do we create a foundation that supports that growth?

    • Get grounded into who you really are.
    • Break it down further and think about how you can start to shift your environment.
    • What are the small things that can make a big difference.
    • If weight loss is something you want? Ask why and get the bigger picture. What small goals will support that most confident self? Then break it down again, what are some habits and mindset shifts I need to implement or change that will help me stay rooted in those goals and help me continue to grow?
    • What are actions that can support that?
    • You need to come first, and prioritize yourself. If you don't do this, you'll be growing without being rooted.

How do we stay rooted and grounded?

    • We often focus on the end goal, but to get there we need to be grounded and rooted in good soil.
    • Roots are not the most visible part of the tree, but they are the most important part.
    • As you grow upward, so do your roots downward. Continue to work on the behind-the-scenes parts of yourself.
    • We will always be growing, it will be messy and tangled. Focus on the 'why'
    • Don't get stuck on every detail of your growth, focus on the details of your environment.
    • You won't see a tree grow, so realize that your growth will happen slowly as well.
    • Remind yourself, you've created amazing soil, and you are planting the right seeds for what you want to achieve.
    • Trust in yourself. Release the outcome and let it happen. Trust and know that you are growing.
    • Don't hold on to control and fear, that will hinder your growth.

I've helped so many clients get to this point through their Body Confident Blueprint journey!

    • A year later, they are continuing their healthy habits.
    • Even better, they are leveling up! Starting new things and making big changes, even if that means getting a little confidently uncomfortable.
    • BCB isn't about just about investing in yourself for 90 days, it's about planting seeds and feeling grounded in who we are. It's about letting go of comparison. You can thrive and be who you're supposed to be, you're never done growing.

    Action steps for this week:

    • Visualize what your fruit looks like (big goals)
    • Audit your environment
    • Reverse engineer your goals
    • Adjust your environment to support your end goal
    • Let go of the outcome and focus on creating healthy soil

An interview with Erin Killen of @KillenItFitness and "The Fit Within Podcast". Learn about her personal fitness journey and how everything changed once she shifted her mindset.

How is mindest connected to our fitness?

    - A fitness journey is incomplete without a mental journey- We cannot rely on external things to bring us lasting happiness, we need to look internally.- Dr. Joe Dispenza (@drjoedispenza) helped Erin step out of her comfort zone and get past her limiting beliefs. - Connecting to yourself means taking the time to learn about yourself, establish a routine, and talk to your inner child. Observe how your thoughts and how other people affect you. - Once you connect with yourself, you have the ability to create your best self. Creating the life that you want is possible.

What Erin did to make the leap from practicing mindfulness to living it:

    - She entered into a state of absorbing. She read a lot more books. She observed her thoughts, feelings and reactions. How we create our reality affects how we act and feel. - You are not defined by how you're feeling. It's an emotion, energy in motion -- It's going to pass.- Shift from 'doing', the hustle, to a focus on being present. Being in control of your life means embracing your creative self. This is the self that will help to create your future.

What are some things Erin does to feel present?

    - She makes her inner strength a priority. It's about rewiring our minds to create a new reality. It takes a lot of work and constant upkeep. - "Just like we would work out our bodies, we need to work out our minds too. We clean our bodies, and we need to clean our minds as well, but we tend to be so judgemental when it comes time to clean the mind."- "It's about finding how you can clean your mind. How you can strengthen your mind and take care of it just like you take care of your body so it doesn't become a barrier to your life, but rather a gate to success."- When faced with a situation, train your mind to think, "How can I respond to this moment, instead of react to it?" Reacting keeps us from experiencing things. You can take a pause and don't need to react to everything. - "Every single time I choose to be here fully, no matter what I do, I'm teaching myself to be here fully within everything else. We're taught how to not be there fully all the time."- Lots of people start the mental work, but it doesn't stick for longer than a week. Give yourself grace.

    Erin's secret? Stop Trying.

    - "I don't have to try. I just have to be. I don't have to go get my joy, I am my joy. It's already here. My health, my wellness, everything that I desire to have is already within me, the only thing that's blocking it is all of this resistance and all of this trying. I already am strong within. I already am good. My core is good, and the only thing that is disconnecting me from that is trying to be something else."- Let go of things that are not serving you. "Creating change, so often, has nothing to do with what you need to add, but it has to do with what you need to release." - Shed mental weight and look within. Only you can raise your vibration and be your own joy.

How can people raise their vibrations?

    - Inspiration is your fuel. Find what inspires you. What inspired you when you were young? It probably still inspires you now. - Think, 'What actually makes me happy?' Not, 'What should I do?'. What ignites the inspiration in my soul? - Structure your day around your inspiration. Prioritize it.- "Find something that ignites your soul, and let's prioritize that. Let's make every action you take during the day be backed up with your fire, your inspiration for life."- It's about maintaining control. When you wake up, there are a lot of external problems and opinions thrown at you. If you start the day with the goal of fueling your inspiration, passion, desires, and who we actually are -- we approach the world with inner strength and inner peace. - Give yourself grace. Do the best with what you are given. The only thing you can do right now is make the best of what you have. • Unconditional Self Love

If you woke up tomorrow 100% confident in your skin, how would your life change? What would you do differently?

Seriously stop what you're doing and answer this question.

Listen and see what some of my clients wrote down when they first joined Body Confident Blueprint. >>

It's time to stop waiting to love yourself until you feel 100% confident in your skin.

    You can start now.

    >> Visualizing the most confident version of yourself is the first step.

Every round of BCB I have my clients fill out a form with this exact question.

    Why?

    >> So I can make it my GOAL as their coach, to help them reach this feeling BEFORE they hit their goal weight. It's so important to prove to them (and for them to prove to themselves) they CAN achieve this level of self-confidence even without hitting a goal weight.

So many of these women go into my program with a number on their mind.

But they come out with SO MUCH MORE.

I became a coach because I saw the way most trainers in the gym I worked at treated their clients. They didn't really care to know the WHY behind their client's desired weight loss.

I care A LOT about your why for creating change.

I care so much I have an ENTIRE MODULE devoted to it!

Once my clients start to see they can UNCONDITIONALLY show up confidently for themselves, they become UNSHAKEABLE!

They no longer are tying their self-worth to a number. They have tapped into their inner strength and confidence that goes beyond a list of rules and conditions.

    STOP waiting to love yourself.

You do NOT have to wait until you reach X weight or X pant size or make X much money to truly live your life. In fact, I challenge you to reach that level of self-love and confidence BEFORE any other goal is hit. That is the sweet spot that turns self-doubting yo-yo dieters into CONFIDENCE QUEENS!

Now it's your turn! My clients were super honest and I want you to be too!

  • 035: This is what's really holding you back

Sometimes creating change isn't about what you need to add, but what you need to release.

    You're holding onto destructive habits.

You're holding onto false narratives about yourself and your capabilities.

You're holding onto fear of the unknown.

The confidence you crave is within you, but doubt + fear get in your way.

The change you're seeking is not going to happen until you learn to let go.

↠ Let go of the outcome and trust you've done your part and now it's time for God to deliver. Release the need for complete control.

↠ Let go of perfection as the only way, and recognize failure is a part of the journey. Release your fear of failure.

↠ Let go of the guilt you've been carrying every time you feel you are self-sabotaging or giving up. Release the weight of this guilt.

↠ Let go of the timeline and believe that the universe always has your best interest at heart and will provide to you in perfect timing.

Release the constant comparison, continue on your path.
