    - We're diving into how to create abundance in the space around us. Sometimes we don't need to add things, but instead take them away.

    - The first step is identifying obstacles that are in our way between us and our goals. People? Places? Food? Consumption? Habits? Thoughts? Environment?

    - Let's start with our external environment. Is it supporting your goals?

    - What about your mental environment? Are there "Mean Girl" thoughts in the driver's seat?

    - What are you spending your time on? To answer that, you need to audit your day.

    - Are there any relationships that aren't serving you? or holding you back?

    - Maybe there are boundaries you need to create

    - Day 3 is about creating the "Strategy to Reverse Engineer your Dreams"

    - In order to make goals that stick, we need to define your "why"

    - What motivates you? Internally vs. Externally

    - Get specific about your goals, and get out of your perfectionist mindset.

    - Be very aware of your words: "I can't", "I want", "I'm trying" "I wish" etc. It's out of control, it's disempowering.

    - "I create" is more empowering.

    - What are your values? What do you value in life?

    - Think about a peak experience in your life (a core memory)

    - At that moment, what values were you honoring them?

    - Group your values together. Highlight the central theme of each value and then define that.

What do you want more of in 2022?

What is that big, scary goal you're almost afraid to say out loud it scares you so much?

    -------------------------

    - 2020 and 2021 have been filled with loss for everyone.

    - J.Go's Nana passed away on Christmas Day. It's shifted how she's going into the New Year. She's taking a different approach to her goals and thinking about what matters in life.

Are your goals aligned with your values?

    - 10 years ago, her goals were super general and superficial.

    - When she met those goals, she didn't feel aligned. She needed to consider what she cares about and what she values.

    - This past year, she's been considering the level of impact she's making on her clients and on the world. The number on the scale or the money she's making aren't what's driving her.

    - She questioned every one of her life goals. Had she felt pressured to hit them to be deemed "successful"?

    - A lot of the goals she'd set were ones she thought she needed to prove to people she was successful and deserves to be in the fitness space. They were ego-driven and had nothing to do with what matters to her.

    - You may find that other people or society have been driving what your goals are.

    - Her 2022 resolutions were numbers focused. Being with her Nana made her realize that the numbers don't matter

  • 58: Creating Space to Heal: Stop the Judgment Cycle

The holiday season has J.Go feeling triggered in ways that make her feel judgmental towards others and towards herself. Maybe you've been feeling the same way?

In these instances, in order to HEAL we need to FEEL. In this episode, J.Go breaks down how to respond when we feel judgement and shame in order to find the root cause and begin healing.

    ---------

    • Lately J.Go has been feeling holiday pressure around gifts. She's been feeling angry and judgmental towards herself and others, and projecting that onto the people around her.
    • Sometimes when situations trigger us, we build walls instead of boundaries.
    • How can we break the cycle of judgement and truly heal our souls?
    • Step 1: Journal, don't call someone. Ask yourself the questions:
      • How did this make me feel?
      • Why do you feel justified in making these judgements? Why do you feel your point of view is valid?
    • Step 2: Release guilt and shame associated with having those judgmental thoughts.
    • Step 3: Dig deeper and ask "When did you first feel triggered by this type of judgement?"
      • It's usually something that happened when you were younger.
      • J.Go found that her attitude around gift giving had everything to do with her childhood and feelings about not having a traditional household.
    • Step 4: Have a conversation with yourself or others to really heal the root problem.
    • It's OK if you still need to walk away when you feel triggered. J.Go lately has found that she's been doing that for so long, she may have built walls instead of boundaries, she's at the point in her healing where she is ready to take the next step.
    • Remember to give yourself grace. You control the narrative. You should be very proud of yourself.

    • Love Language Quiz link: https://www.jgofitlife.com/selflovequiz

Self care can look different in different seasons of your life. Sometimes you need more of one type than another.

    Types of Self Care:

    1. Emotional: Examples of these could be taking time to journal, reflect, and process emotions. It could mean going to therapy.
    2. Mental: Stimulate your mind and support a healthy psyche. Example of this could be listening to a podcast or book, practicing positive self-talk, establishing a routine, or keeping a gratitude journal.
    3. Physical + Practical: Examples of this could be daily movement, eating whole foods, sleeping, resting, or organizing your space.
    4. Social: Having deep connections with others, having a support system, calling your mom or someone similar
    5. Personal + Professional: Having hobbies,
    6. Spiritual: Feeding your soul, keeping boundaries, connect with your inner child

    How to get started:

Ask yourself: What kind of self care do I need today? Where are you craving some TLC?

    • It's easiest to start with 2-3 minutes in the morning
    • Start with the basics: Sleep, water, daily movement
    • Doing a daily audit every season: What are you consuming?

Start with what you're already going and modify the mindset behind it:

    - Showering: Envision your highest self, and when she steps out of the shower you are here. Intentionally be present in the moment.

    - Putting on lotion: Take 1-2 minutes more, celebrate your body and thank your body as you do it.

    - Drinks coffee: attach that habit to something else you want to do. Coffee and journal. (gratitude, intentions)

    - Walk your dog or take a walk: Instead of being on your phone, focus on the things around you: Breath. Practice gratitude. Notice nature.

    - Commute to work / Driving: podcast, call a friend. Listen to classical music. Whatever is going to feed your soul.

    - Lunch break: A lot of people don't take a lunch break. Don't scroll on your phone during lunch. Go outside.

    - Cooking and cleaning: Chores we feel like we have to do. Makes us go into it with a negative mindset and feeling frustrated. Pair it with something you enjoy doing, like a movie or a show.

    - Brush your teeth: Pick up things, tidy the house.

"Give yourself permission to slow down. Give yourself permission to not do all the things all the time. You are allowed to slow down. You don't need to earn rest. rest is a priority, it is something you need. physically, mentally, and emotionally you need to take rest or you will burn out. "

"Don't let other people try to convince you that it's not possible to prioritize your self care and your needs. Not only is it possible, it is absolutely crucial that you do"

    Ep 7: Let's Talk Boundaries: https://jgofitlife.libsyn.com/lets-talk-boundaries

How can you show up this holiday season for YOU? How can you prepare for the holidays and set intentions? How do you respond to rude relatives? How can you continue to feel grounded and grateful? How can you keep on track with your mindset and with your goals?

    BEFORE Holiday Season Events:

    Set Intentions

    - It's easy to get wrapped into what other people want or are doing

    - Take a step out of the pressure and set intentions

    - What do you want to get out of this meeting? A good example: Be present in this moment.

    - Set intentions in a space you feel grounded. Think about the "why"

    - Create affirmation with your intentions in mind

    DURING the Event:

How do you respond to rude relatives and set family boundaries?

    - Ask: "What does my highest self need to thrive?"

    - Think about and set your boundaries when it comes to food, connection, conversation, and traveling

    - "Practice saying 'no' without guilt and 'yes' with confidence"

    - Notice when you are building walls instead of upholding boundaries

    - Boundaries help you communicate and connect when, and where, you are capable

    - It's OK to limit time with people who are draining

How to respond to these comments:

"It looks like you gained some weight."

Respond with: "Looks like you lost your manners!" Or "I'm sorry, is there a reason you brought this up? I don't believe my size concerns you, we can talk about something else though"

    - A lot of people who say comments aren't used to getting a clap back. You're worthy of giving a response and stopping the cycle.

"Are you sure you want seconds?"

Respond with: "Did I ask for your opinion?" or "Why are you so concerned about my plate? Let's talk about something a little more meaningful"

    - There will be an awkward silence. Remind yourself of your affirmations.

    - The moment of awkwardness will be worth it in the long run

    "Why are you still single?"

    - A lot of people will comment on your status.

    - People will make you feel behind all the time

    - "Quit trying to check all these boxes to please other people because you will find yourself living someone else's life"

"When are you gonna have kids?"

    - You can educate them on why it's not OK to ask that question

    - Say you don't want kids

    Comments about what you're wearing:

    - Wear whatever you want

    - Bend and snap and walk out of there

    - People are projecting their own insecurities

    - Show love back and don't get angry. It's not worth it to not get angry

What do you do if your family ignores your boundaries?

    - Remind + Release

    - Remind them why you set a boundary

    - Release attachment to their response

After the holidays, remember self love

    - If you're feeling guilty, release that guilt of perfection

    - Celebrate that progress. Come back to gratitude, celebrate the small wins and the progress within yourself.

    - "Don't focus on the things that maybe didn't go perfectly. Focus on the progress and the growth that you had within yourself because that stuff matters and it's how we continue to grow."

Next week: Serving slices of self care and how to do that during a busy or stressful season of your life

  • Reconnect with your Body Part 1: Nurture, Nature + Naked
If you've been feeling disconnected with your body lately, then this episode is for you. J.Go teaches us the methods she's used to reconnect with her body: Nurture, Nature, Naked.

    J.Go Lately:

    • Hosted the J.Go Retreat
    • Had one of her biggest Body Confident Blueprint launches
    • Coming off of that high, she felt lost, disconnected and confused. Why?
    • "It's easy to get caught up in goals, and you can lose yourself in the process if you're not doing things that bring you joy everyday"
    • She recognized that she did not feel connected to her body.

Ask yourself: When do I feel the most connected to myself? (When do I feel most connected to God and the Universe?)

For J.Go, it's three words: nurture, nature, naked

    1) Nurture - Some tips on how to give yourself nourishment:

    • Write a letter to your younger self. Ask, "What would make you happy today?"
    • It usually comes back to play
    • If you feel like nothing can bring you joy anymore - ask for help.
    • Give yourself some TLC, make your favorite comfort food

    2) Nature - Tips for how to be more present in nature:

    • We're on our screens a lot more now and it's important to get outside.
    • The more you consume what others are doing, the more disconnected you feel
    • Go for a walk and be more present by breathing, listening, looking, and finding gratefulness

    3) Naked - Options for being naked to love and affirm your body:

    • It's easy to focus on your worth outside of your body. Your worth isn't tied to your body, but your body still provides you life and deserves to be celebrated.
    • Dry brushing
    • Putting on lotion that you love
    • Say thank you to each part as you pamper it
    • Baths gives us an opportunity to slow down in a vulnerable state
    • Dance naked and take your time getting dressed
    • Do yoga naked (or with less clothes on than usual)

How to get started? Journal and ask yourself two questions:

    - What do I do that makes me feel most connected to myself?

    - Ask your younger self: What brings you joy? How can I find joy today?

Take one day a week for 5-10 minutes to journal. What's something we did really well this past week? What can we do to show ourselves more love this week?

"Life is short y'all. If you're feeling disconnected from yourself and you're going through the motions, you're missing out on what it fully feels like to live."

  • 53: Red Flags in the Coaching Industry

This episode is an IGTV conversation calling out coaches who gaslight their clients and are more focused on their ego than of the mental and physical well-being of others. J.Go breaks down how to identify a coach like this and when to set boundaries.

Some red flags to look for in coaching:

    - There's nothing wrong with their methods, it's YOUR fault you're not losing weight.

    - They tell you that if you don't stick to the (probably restrictive) meal plan, then you're not serious enough.

    - Talking down to, or belittling, clients

    - Being caught up in their ego and not being willing to shift part of the program to appease their client

    When to set Boundaries:

    - If you're being shamed and are getting no flexibility -- it's time to drop that coach.

    - If you're feeling responsible for other people's happiness, or feel like other people's problems are consuming you -- you need to set boundaries.

    - Feeling guilty over small things or wanting time for yourself

    - If you're a 'yes' woman and put your own needs on the back burner

    - If you avoid sharing your opinion to avoid confrontation

    - If you find it difficult to express your needs to others (for fear of judgement or guilt).

As your coach, I care much more about your relationship with food + your body than I do about cutting corners to get "results" that can lead to long-term physical AND mental health issues down the road.⁣

You deserve to invest in a coach who cares AND has education + experience to support your goals long-term.⁣

  • 51: Where Are They Now? Interview with BCB Alum, Erika Taylor

BCB ENROLLMENT IS OPEN! This will be the last Body Confident Blueprint of 2021 and instead of the normal 12-week program, I'm making this one 16 weeks to support you through the holidays and New Year. Head to https://www.jgofitlife.com/bcb to fill out your application. *Spots are Limited*

Jordan caught up with Erika Taylor (@tayloringstyle) after she completed her BCB Journey. Erika was comfortable where she was, but joined BCB to gain strength and confidence. She got all of that, and then some!

    • Connect with Jordan: @JGoFitLife https://www.instagram.com/jgofitlife
    • Apply to be a part of J.Go's Body Confident Blueprint coaching program: https://www.jgofitlife.com/bcb
    • Connect with Erika @TayloringStyle

    About Erika:

    • Erika is a full-time teacher and part-time style blogger living in Charlotte NC.
    • Erika met Jordan while she was with a personal training client at her gym.
    • Jordan became Erika's personal trainer, and Erika helped Jordan create her capsule wardrobe and "Taylor" her closet.

What was life like before BCB?

    • Erika was working out pretty consistently, but wasn't challenging herself.
    • She was fairly healthy, but feels like she was being restrictive.
    • She journaled a lot, but didn't focus on mindset too much.
    • She wanted to feel stronger and more confident.

What helped her during the Discovery Call?

    • She felt comfortable and supported and got that push to take it to the next level.
    • The call got her thinking about making this shift in her life. If she didn't do it now, would she ever?
    • It was a turning point. She didn't want to stay stuck in the same place.

What made you drawn to BCB as a program?

    • The mindset aspect was huge.
    • Having access to Jordan made it really personalized.
    • She loved the group aspect and getting to grow alongside like minded women.
    • She felt like if she went over on her Macros, for example, Jordan wasn't a coach who would admonish her. She felt comfortable.

    What was her experience like?:

    • She's learned to be more patient with herself and trust the timeline.
    • She's learned to celebrate the small wins and let them give her more confidence.
    • She's learned to map out what she wants and believe it is all achievable.
    • She's gained confidence to keep putting herself out there one little bit at a time.
    • She's had moments of struggle that would have broken her before BCB, but now she can handle difficulties with confidence knowing that she'll work through them.
    • She feels like a happier person and a happier person to be around.

What's the biggest win Erika had from the program?

    • She's had so many wins, it's hard to choose one!
    • Overall confidence and physical strength.
    • She's shifting towards improving the quality of her life and creating long term change.
    • She knows that everything she wants WILL happen, and she's excited about the future knowing that her actions are leading her to her goals.
    • She used to compare her life to the timeline her friend's are on. Instead of feeling bad about not being married or having children (yet), she chooses to be grateful. The mindset shift helped her be grateful for the time she has to work on herself and invest in herself. It's all preparing her for the future.

What advice would you give to girls just starting their BCB Journey?

    • You get what you put in. Pour yourself into it because you'll get so much more.
    • It's overwhelming, but make it so it works for you. She made folders in her phone of all the apps she used daily while going through BCB.
    • Make yourself a priority. BCB is about YOU.
