Tony Sands is performing at the Reitz Theater in DuBois this Saturday with “It Was a Very Good Year: A Frank Sinatra Tribute.”

It’s so much more than just an impression of Sinatra.

Sands and his crew mix music, storytelling, history, and photos for the show, starting with Sinatra’s early days with Tommy Dorsey in the bright lights of New York City, and brings us to his comeback at Madison Square Garden, the “Main Event.”

Brockway is preparing for a special visit from a traveling memorial in honor of Vietnam veterans.

It’s called “The Wall That Heals”… a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The wall travels throughout the country and will be stopping in Brockway from June 26 to July 2. Brockway will provide a police escort for the wall as it comes to town. They also plan on lining Main Street with flags as the Wall comes throughout downtown around 6 p.m. on June 26.

Brockway Mayor Bill Hrinya explained the importance of the Wall coming to Brockway.

Jim Leyland, the former manager of the Pirates Pirates from 1986 to 1996, will be the Parade Grand Marshal at the DuBois Community Day's Fireman's Parade!
