Phil was appointed IWA’s Chief Executive Officer in August 2020. He has over 25 years of local and international experience in the planning, delivery and management of infrastructure in both the public and private sectors and has held a number of executive roles as consultant, contractor and more recently on the client-side. Brian Chua has more than 10 years of experience as a property developer and designer, and in 2014, co-founded Tailor Projects - a multi-award winning company and in 2017, founded Kin Projects - a sustainability design focus company. I agree, the professional marketplace is crowded.

  At the bottom, where the majority will do the bare minimum and expect the absolute maximum.   Where they dress the same Act the same Think the same Behave the same Talk the same  Sound the same   There's nothing wrong with having a corporate career, but if you're going to do so, at least don't follow the masses in their lax, complacent and entitled behaviour and attitudes.    Listen to my latest episode on Constructing You where I share three ways to create a degree of differentiation immediately.

Damian has more than 25 years’ experience as a consulting structural engineer in Australia, US, Canada and Asia. After graduating with first class honours from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Damian undertook post-graduate studies at the University of Toronto and the University of Sydney specialising in sustainable engineering including Mass Timber and CLT.

In 1997 Damian visited La Sagrada Familia.  It changed his outlook.  While sitting on the pew, looking up at the light dancing on the ceiling of the cathedral he made a decision to dedicate his career to Architecture through Structures.

Damian started his career in Australia with Low and Hooke, before moving to Hyder and then to SDA Structures where he was a director.

Damian founded Cantilever in 2010 with a focus on developing co-creation, integrated design and regenerative design within projects that require high levels of harmonisation between architecture and structural engineering.  Cantilever specialises in Stage 0 of the design, which is the early feasibility stage of a project.

Many different and new obstacles appear daily in the business world.  There are many pointy moments, hard climbs, steep and fast falls.  Some moments look hard, but are actually easy. Amanda is an experienced senior executive having spent over 30 years working across the built environment sector. During her career Amanda has been a partner in PwC LLP and EY LLP, where she was Head of Infrastructure (Advisory). She has worked across some of the major public and private infrastructure clients in the UK.

She is a Past President of RICS, becoming the longest serving in 123 years, where her themes were infrastructure, cities and the war for talent. Awarded “Most Influential Surveyor” in RICS Pride in the Profession Top Surveyors of all time for 150th Anniversary. Amanda established and chairs the RICS Construction & Infrastructure Market Forum.

Listed in Who's Who - Amanda is a senior property professional in real estate, infrastructure and construction.  She is a member of the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Advisory Panel, as well as having been involved in the DfT Infrastructure Efficiency Challenge Panel, the APPG for Excellence in the Built Environment - Skills (2016) & Women in Construction (2019), the Independent Expert Advisory Panel advising MHCLG on building safety following the Grenfell Tower Fire, and the Lord Mayor of London’s Trust Advisory Group.
