  • Preview: Phenomenology of the Podcaster w/ Meta Nomad (Hermitix) & Cute Noumena, Pt. 1

Featuring none other than James Ellis (Meta Nomad) of the legendary Hermitix Podcast and Cute Noumena of Decode Cast.

What is a podcast? Why do people start them? Why do people listen to them? What makes one good? What makes one bad? How do you keep on going? What is a metric of success? When does it stop being a podcast and start being something else entirely? This is an investigation on the ins and outs of podcasting as a mediological study. Scary ass shit 🎃

    Pt. 2 coming shortly.

PS. Thank You to all the people who came out to the Angelfest reading and the Nubased Axtion Kunst performance w/ Alex Bienstock this weekend in NYC. Was great to see you all in person!

  • Ep. 80: Hollow Nacelle w/ Curtis Eggleston & Manuel Marrero (Expat Lit)

If you enjoy this episode, please consider subscribing 🏰HERE🏰

Interview w/ Curtis Eggleston on his debut novel Hollow Nacelle with Manuel Marrero, head of Expat Lit. Hollow Nacelle is a beautifully woven tapestry of mysticism, artistic malaise, burnout culture, alienation, pharmacology, and the trappings of social media and social mobility. Curtis explains the novel, as well as some details into his cryptic background, from fighting fires and teaching children in Sao Paulo, Brazil (where he currently resides), to rubbing elbows with the glamorous in Los Angeles to exiting society. Craft, patience, and the merits of slow burn vs/ instant gratification. Manuel discusses Expat and literature's resurgence, and the trajectory of the project. One of my favorite personal episodes.

  • Ep.78: Endless Songs & Binaural Beat Utopianism w/ Alexander Iadarola

The last two years have altered our relationship w/ media and sound: songs on repeat, EDM tracks about togetherness and euphoria, Spotify "study" playlists have all entered our world in a half assed attempt to ground our fleeting sense of time. I talk writer Alexander Iadarola (Rhizome, Bomb, 032c) about his interviews of Bladee and Ecco2K, theories on endless songs, slime, the problem of techno spirituality, brain-interfacing organisms merging w/ machines, why he got into writing, & more.

w/ artist/writer Brad Phillips : socially induced chronic pain, ideological failures, digitized torment, 12 step recovery (transposed for Instagram), higher powers, the desire to stare into the ocean forever, having to work even though we're going through a major extinction event, murdering your inner child, forced endurance contests and how wrong everyone was in the 20th century.  Clear/White/Soft/Cosmic/Hopeful.
