2019 was a garbage fire in the real world, but as far as games are concerned, it was a banner year. We get together to talk about our three favorite games of the year, recommend some games for each other, and remember some games that, sure enough, actually came out this year, a year which lasted a decade.
See you in 2020.

Sometimes I get surprised by the turns we take during this show but by God we somehow spend actual minutes talking about seaQuest DSV this week. We also talk about Susan’s journey into Death Stranding, whether Half-Life: Alyx is going to be the Big One for VR, and how Star Wars colon Jedi colon Fallen Order gets Star Wars so right, even with the living embodiment of mayo for a main character.
We do spoil quite a bit of Jedi: Fallen Order, so if you want to skip that section, you’ll want to avoid 1:00:30 to about 1:17:17

Good Maklunkey to you all, we have a humdinger of a show for you. This week, we’re talking about Susan’s experience with Luigi’s Mansion 3, the surprisingly good Daybreak on Netflix, Google Stadia’s disappointing launch lineup, and the main event: a big ol’ hotplate of Death Stranding.
We don’t spoil any big reveals or anything but we do spoil some basic story elements, moments and mechanics from Death Stranding so if you’re still on a media blackout, be sure to skip from 28:00 to 1:12:00.
Also, HUGE shoutout to Tom Coveney for this week’s podcast art, check out the full image on Twitter.

This week, we talk about Disney+ and deeply disturbing 80s movies and which console is our baby.
Man, Gooigi makes some really nasty sounds in Luigi’s Mansion 3. I can hear the *SLUUURP* he makes when he passes through metal bars in my dreams. Yuck. We spend this week’s episode talking about how Luigi’s Mansion 3’s clever haunts have charmed the heck out of Anthony, how Disco Elysium makes a relatively small game world feel so big, and how The Outer Worlds is missing that special something.

Hi all! We convene this week to celebrate Halloween by watching that feel-good horror movie classic The Descent. Join us as we watch a film where six women go spelunking deep below the Earth’s surface, where nothing ever bad happens ever. Everyone just having a real normal one two miles underground.
David hasn’t seen this movie before, by the way. It goes about as well as you’d expect.
If you want to watch along with us, the film is currently available to rent via the usual suspects, but if you want to watch the version we saw, check it out on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8VaAlxzVS8
Also, be sure to check out Susan’s Susanween thread on Twitter. Every day in October she’s highlighting a horror movie to check out. Start at this tweet and don’t stop until you’re afraid to sleep without one eye open: https://twitter.com/SusanArendt/status/1179205524476313600?s=20

We got spooks on the brain this week! This episode, we’re talking about what we like (and don’t like) about horror movies, and what works (and what doesn’t) in horror games. We also talk about whether big games can ever be considered “perfect” games.
