Join us during this fun episode with father and son guests, Scott & Liam Kelly. Their podcast is entitled “Why Do We Say That?” and talks all about understanding the origin of our common, everyday phrases.
When we decided to collaborate, I had a special request for them: Could we combine our podcasts to create an episode based on idioms we say today which were created by Shakespeare? Many of you know that I’m a big fan of the Bard of Avon. Have a listen and see why some of those commonly used phrases are still universal after all these centuries!

Back on Episode 60 with guest Mary Jane Holmes we promised a follow up interview with with her “daughter”, Mary Scott. Today Mary Scott candidly reveals emotions while talking us through their personal experience with mental illness activism and their own gender identity.
Once again, this podcast episode was not recorded or aired to stir up controversy. I felt like it just made sense to ask someone who is in the midst of our societal transformation to speak WITH me, rather than for me speak ABOUT them. Admittedly, I am mostly clueless about many of the issues those going through gender identity transformations face and I used this opportunity to learn more about it and understand their journey.

Today I will share insight around the “tough-love” answer to the question: “How did I get here?” It gives you a sense of the flavor of the approach in my Confident Living program. It gives insight into what we cover in the first session’s topics around why we make the choices that we make. We can no longer allow ourselves to get into circumstances we don't like or blame other people for where we are in life.
This episode will share two personal examples that demonstrate why we make the choices that we make and how we learn to find better methods of decision-making.

*Trigger Warning* At the beginning of this episode I share that we are discussing very sensitive topics of suicide and gender identity. I emphasize my point to listen DEEPLY to our guest as a parent who loves her children. Please spare any judgmental comments regarding politically incorrect terms, statistics, or religious/moral positions. The point of this podcast is never about stirring up controversy.
I'd like to thank Mary Jane for being willing to share this extremely painful and sensitive conversation with us. She is still in the depths of this transition. Tim, (MJ's husband and Sam and Scottie's father) wasn't ready to share publicly and we totally understand and honor that. We are talking about their son, Sam, who died by suicide about four years ago. We will also talk about their daughter, Scottie’s, gender identity.

We have entered our new normal. We've had our vaccinations, we no longer have to wear masks, we can meet in person, we can go to work and our kids can go to all of their summer activities. Now everything's opening up.
Over the past several months we spent a lot of time talking about a new normal but it seemed like we kept putting it off into the way distant future. Now, we’ve woken up one morning and it’s finally here. That “someday” we kept talking about is TODAY! So, I want to know - What's New With You?

Another tiny house episode! This one is about discovering internet space savers.
Living in a Tiny House has forced me to consider the minimalist lifestyle options available. It’s also opened my eyes to how much living space I take up, not only in my own home but in my community and on Earth. In our last episode we talked about when something comes into our lives we must decide on what to remove to make room for it. And vice versa, whenever something has to be removed from our life it allows room for something else to enter and fill up that empty space.
I am learning to be aware of how my life impacts those around me and I know you, my listeners, are too. I hope this episode allows us all to make a little space to include each other in our lives.

Janelle Reed transitioned from being the happy wife of the "it" couple and a stay-at-home mom to working full-time and navigating single-mom life.
Even though it was difficult she managed to create a haven for single moms and fulfilling the needs of others just like her in her own community. This is her story.
