Contemplating our identity is nothing new. Having a mid-life crisis, understanding how to follow our bliss, and trying to figure out how to overcome imposter syndrome has plagued many of us for several generations.

Today I talk about one of the strongest identities that I connected with...being a mother. I was recently a guest on another podcast and the question was asked if I still identify as a mother since my only child died. 

My answer? No.  

This answer might shock some but I haven’t identified myself as a mother for many years. I talk about this and other ways we contemplate our identities and how we can challenge imposter syndrome in ourselves. Thank you for listening to me today and remember to always listen to each other!

Brent & Jocelyn both grew up on family farms in Nebraska, they met at church near Brent’s family farm and then got married. Life was like a storybook dream come true. 

As I focused on Earth Day, I set out to the local farmer's market in search of a story about organic gardening. I stopped at a booth to buy some farm-fresh meat but what I got was so much more. From the moment we struck up a conversation I knew Brent & Jocelyn Epps of Thrive Farms, LLC was supposed to be on the show. What piqued my interest was the regenerative soil practices they have been using for five years.

Today we talk all about Regeneration Agriculture. It has nothing to do with going back to how our ancestors farmed and actually the term “regeneration” refers specifically to the soil, nurturing it to be as healthy as it was generations ago. In turn, we all benefit from better nutrients in our foods. Thanks for listening today!

I've always been a fan of being in nature. I grew up playing outdoors and learning to love the land from the farmers in my town.

In 1992 my son was born in Minneapolis, MN and when we discovered his cancer at 2 months old we started eating all natural, mostly organic, whole foods. We had moved to Minneapolis in 1990 where I worked for Dayton’s. They celebrated Arbor Day by giving out saplings as a "gift with purchase" to their customers. I was hooked! That eventually led me to love Earth Day.

Earth Day…it’s my favorite day, I celebrate it every day of the year! Naturally, it’s our theme for the entire month. (“Naturally” - Get the pun?) Enjoy this episode about how we can appreciate our days on Earth.

She helped reshape an entire industry. Her transformation story lies in how she managed to completely redirect a standard belief that the construction industry was meant only for men. The most important message Elise wants you to hear is to always have one hand reaching up and one hand reaching back to bring someone else along.
