It’s easy to think that a legacy is all about grand achievements, monumental successes, or accumulating material wealth, but there’s so much more to it than that. At its heart, as a parent, a legacy is about the love you share, the values you uphold, and the positive impact you make on the lives of your children.

In this episode, I discuss several legacies parents leave behind, and how you can consciously choose the impact of each of them on your children:

1) Physical Legacy
A contemporary issue is the impact of social media on children and youths, in particular, their body image.

2) Emotional Legacy
Your emotional legacy is all about the impact your words and actions have on your child’s emotional well-being.

3) Cultural Legacy
Everything that shapes our minds and manners, influencing how we see the world and interact with it. This isn't just about the obvious stuff like what we wear, the foods we love, or the language we speak—though that's definitely part of it.

4) Social Legacy
How you interact with other human beings is closely observed by your children; kids are always watching us, even when we think they’re not.

I also discuss how parents influence children's minds, and the legacy of parents' self-talk in their children.   

As parents, at times we do not realize the extent towards which  we influence our own children. Our words and actions do not cease to exist with our own passing. Every single act, every word that we utter in their presence is engraved in their souls.  They carry these into adulthood and, in turn, transmit them to their children, who will then teach them to their children, consciously or otherwise. The legacy that we leave behind endures long after we have passed on.

Identifying your dominant parenting style will help you become a better Nurturer, Coach, Mentor, and Adviser as you lead your children to better outcomes no matter their age.

In this episode, I talk about "Mothers In The Qur'an".  Among Muslims, the Qur'an is sacred text, a divine revelation from Allah (God). There are many lessons and insights regarding mothers in the Qur'an. Examples:

-  in the Qur'an, Allah recognises the sacrifices and hardships that mothers endure, from pregnancy to childbirth and beyond
- Allah stresses the importance of treating mothers with respect and kindness, regardless of their beliefs or actions
- In Islam, mothers hold a significant and revered position. In the Qur'an, Allah emphasizes the importance of honoring and respecting mothers. Several verses in the Qur'an highlight the role of mothers and emphasize the duty of kindness, care and obedience towards mothers. 

 If you’re not a Muslim, I urge you to keep listening, as I trust that you can benefit from it too. The Qur’an is the ultimate guide for parents to raise better leaders among children and youths.

In this episode, I introduce the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode which relates to five animal characters that simplify the way we respond to conflicts, namely: shark, turtle, owl, fox,  and teddy bear. You may, of course, use different animal characters that you think are more suitable for you.

I shine the spotlight on some case studies to help you see how you can transform challenging moments in your marriage into something positive, just by the way you respond. These case studies are based on real life cases that I documented in my book, “The Kindness Miracle”.
