Was the “Spiritual Gifts teaching in 1 Cor 13 inserted so that preachers and ministers are able to quote bible verses for weddings, funerals and other social gatherings as some believe? Or is the intended purpose to show that love (agape) is the source of spiritual gifts and without agape-love the possessor of these gifts are useless in their own wellbeing?

The Apostles of Christ do not ask the brethren to follow them, be obedient to their teaching, just because of the title they wear – NO!

But as they (the Apostles) are imitators of Christ – so the brethren may become imitators of the Lord’s Apostles.

In Chapter 11 is where we learn of God’s order for all creation. The assemblies of Christ must understand this order to be useful in the Kingdom of God.
