Copilots Review

Two months after we started this journey examining the original science fiction shows produced by Youtube as part of their push for original premium television we come to this incredibly dissatisfying conclusion. Unfortunately at some point between watching Lifeline and going to watch Origin it seems that the show has been effectively scrubbed from the internet. So in a first for Copilots we instead review a show by reading wikipedia, synopses, and other reviews to get an idea of what the first two episodes have to offer us and our passengers.

Your favorite pilots (and a guest!?) are back in the cockpit once more to discuss Yum! Brands, Marvel Snap, The Cosmere, and how modern fantasy properties should handle the in-universe occurrences of our-universe terror events. All delivered with the delightful chemistry you have to come to know and love alongside cutting edge commentary of tv shows that ended over a decade ago! We all learn that while you can return to the past whenever you want, you will find no one there.

There is not enough time in anyone's day to watch all the media that's coming out. Which is both a real shame and a large part of what we are here for at Copilots. That said sometimes what you hear about something may stop you from ever giving it a chance to begin with and that is especially disheartening when the media in question actually turns out to be pretty solid. This time in the cockpit we discuss our current dive into the Netflix Marvel shows as we prepare for the Daredevil Disney+ reboot (or is it a continuation?). Specifically we discuss some of the more negatively received aspects of the "Defenderverse" and why we think it might be time you gave it a second chance too.

We're back and it's with part two of our three part retrospective on YouTube Red/Premium's experiment with science fiction shows. This time the show is Impulse, a spin off of the cult classic Jumper. Impulse based on the same series of novels by Steven Gould that the Jumper film was. On this flight we take a look at how Gould's novels translate to a smaller screen.

Join us in what is the first in a three part retrospective looking back at YouTube Red/Premium's brief foray into science fiction shows. Lifeline was YouTube's first attempt at original science fiction, an attempt that quickly had the cord pulled not just for Lifeline but YouTube in general.

We return from our brief hiatus and come bearing information on upcoming flight schedules, as well as brief history of Youtube Premium's original shows. It turns out that in the late 2010s Youtube was regularly churning out high quality content that for the most part seemed to slip under everyone's radar. Now some of these shows are inaccessible to watch outside of committing acts of piracy and nearly all of them were canceled and forgotten. We discuss the path that led to this and detail our plans to highlight some of these gems that are seemingly lost to annals of the internet.

Travel with us in flying back two decades to a time of flip phones and before the pervasiveness of social media. A time when the subgenre of tv known as the "teen drama" was at it's most popular. And join us for what may be one of the most influential teen dramas to have ever graced prime time television, Veronica Mars.

It's a new year but we're your same copilots! In this brief interlude between our more robust longer form content we take a moment to discuss video games, primarily roguelikes, some anime and Jet Lag. Seriously if you aren't watching Jet Lag why do you even have access to YouTube at this point?

With all of the flights here at Copilots Review it truly was just a matter of time before it caught up with us. The tiredness, inability to sleep and general disorientation are just a part of being a pilot. There is a term for this combination of feelings though; Jet Lag. Turns out that term is also the title of a Nebula competition series as well. So on this flight we dive into our first experience with reality TV Jet Lag: The Game.
