This week on Inside the Headset, we are featuring Corey Parker, the cornerbacks' coach at Toledo. Coach Parker discusses his coaching start, and the transition from HS to college coaching, and offers advice to young coaches. Corey Parker is in his second year as the cornerbacks' coach at Toledo. Coach Parker was a three-time letter winner as a defensive back at Eastern Michigan, earning a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2005. In his first year at Toledo, Coach Parker mentored All-American Quinyon Mitchell and a cornerbacks group that ranked 3rd in the MAC with 12 interceptions. Before Toledo, Coach Parker had an incredibly successful high school coaching career as River Rouge’s head coach. He compiled a 113-34 record with seven district titles, five regional crowns, five state semifinal appearances, and three appearances in the state championship game. River Rouge won the Division 3 state title in 2019.
