God created man "in His image." The ramifications of this fact are endless! It separates us from every other creature! Mankind's spiritual nature and his relationship to God is detailed even before the creation of his body is described. It prioritizes worship and service; it also makes sin all the more terrible! Our great need is a Savior, and God will also provide that!

On this day God created the land animals and, ultimately, man "in His own image!" Man is unlike any other creature ever created! As such, He can reason, plan, remember, build, examine, worship, read, write, speak, and a host of other things. That fact is so important that it is repeated four times in two verses!

On this day, God created the sea creatures and the flying creatures. Eleven times in Genesis chapter one, we read the phrase "after their kind." And that is God's creation! Never have we found one animal becoming another animal. The lie of evolution tells us that such "transitional forms" ought to be found everywhere! No, God created it all!

On day four, God created the heavenly bodies! Almost as a footnote, it says "and He made the stars!" Our earth is just perfect for sustaining life - tilted at 23.5 degrees, in exact relation to the sun and moon and other planets! Could that have "just happened?" Absolutely not! Astronomers tell us that there are about 10 billion galaxies in the observable universe, and over 1 billion trillion stars! It is all a testament to the creative power of God!

God separated the dry land from the seas, creating a place on which man and animals could exist! Then He created the vegetation and fruit trees which bear seed "after their kind"! Botanists tell us that there are more than 12,000 species of grasses! God created it; only He could!

The Laws of Thermodynamics declare the existence of God! The Fossil Record also declares His truth. On Day Two of creation, God separated the waters above from below. Water is 773 times the weight of air and scientists say that the average puffy, white rain cloud weighs as much as 100 elephants! Yet it hangs in the sky! It is a testament to God's creative power!

God's first act in creation was to dispel the darkness and create light! Even today, while we can describe light, we cannot fully explain it. Just so does God in Jesus Christ dispel the darkness of sin so that we might be saved!

Moses was schooled in all the wisdom of the Egyptians (Acts 7:22) and yet, when directed to write Genesis, we read none of that mythology but the clear fact that God is our Creator and we are responsible to Him!

Genesis presents to us the undeniable FACT of God and His great love for us! It also reveals to us the very purpose of life which is: to know Him and serve Him and spend eternity with Him! All of history is truly HIS-story in His dealings with mankind.

The book of Genesis has 50 chapters, 1,533 verses, and 38,267 words - and all of them point to our Creator God and His love for mankind. These 10 words comprise the greatest verse in the Bible; believe it, and no other part of God's truth will be a problem.
