It can be challenging for us to trust in God in all circumstances, especially with so many things in our lives that appear to be uncertain. Yet, Jesus has proven, through His death and resurrection, that we can be certain that our salvation is secure in Him.

The world comes at us with so many voices competing for our attention. They eventually lead us off course from the truth and alone to fend for ourselves. There is one Trusted Voice that cuts through the noise—the voice of Jesus, our Shepherd, who safely leads us to green pastures.

We have a kind of love all around us in our society that places such a high value on tolerance and acceptance, but often that doesn’t do what we really need. True love does hard things. God refused to settle for less than the best for you, and so He loved in the hardest way, by sacrificing His son.

John 3:1-17

It’s common these days to hear people say that someone else “needs Jesus”. Usually, it’s to say that they need corrective action! Yet it is true—we all need Jesus! We need Him because we cannot fix, correct, or right ourselves on our own. Lent is a season to recognize this need and embrace the work of our Savior. We have confidence in the words of Philippians 4:19, “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
