Bulls 110, Knicks 102 – Markkanen, LaVine lead way as Bulls beat Knicks 110-102
Lauri Markkanen scored 30 points, Zach LaVine scored 17 of his 21 in the second half and the Chicago Bulls beat the New York Knicks 110-102. Markkanen delivered another blistering performance coming off a season-high 31-point outing. The 7-footer from Finland nailed six 3-pointers. LaVine hit a 3 and hit two free throws during a game-ending 10-2 run. Coby White scored 13, including a tiebreaking 3. Thaddeus Young added 13 points eight rebounds and eight assists. Julius Randle led New York with 23 points. Alec Burks scored 18. Immanuel Quickley added 16 points. But the Knicks lost for the fifth time in six games.
Pistons at Nuggets – PPD – NBA calls off Detroit-Denver game because of virus issues
Detroit’s game at Denver on Monday night was called off by the NBA because of contact tracing issues for the Pistons left them without enough players available to take the floor. It was the first postponement announced by the NBA in a week, and the first game that won’t be played since the Chicago at Memphis game that was scheduled to take place Wednesday. The league got every game on the schedule between Thursday and Sunday played, the longest run without a postponement in nearly a month.

NFL – 'I have to go': Fans who've been to every Super Bowl book in
The Super Bowl is going to look different this year for three friends who’ve attended every installment of the big game. But Don Crisman, Tom Henschel and Gregory Eaton will still be there, as they have every year since the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game in 1967. The trio are among an ever-shrinking handful of fans who have witnessed every Super Bowl in person. They won’t be able to sit next to each other this year, and they're working coronavirus precautions into the trip. Attendance at the 2021 Super Bowl has been capped at 22,000, which includes 7,500 health care workers. The stadium will be about a third full.
NFL – Packers planning for long-term future that includes Rodgers
Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst and coach Matt LaFleur say they expect Aaron Rodgers to remain their team’s starting quarterback in 2021 and beyond. Gutekunst and LaFleur made those comments Monday during season-ending Zoom sessions with reporters. Rodgers had said after the Packers’ 31-26 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC championship game that “there’s a lot of guys’ futures that are uncertain, myself included.”

Gonzaga and Baylor have continued their season-long run atop The Associated Press men’s college basketball poll. The Zags received 61 first-place votes from a media panel and Baylor had the other three. Villanova is No. 3 followed by Michigan and Houston, which moved up a spot for its highest ranking since the Phi Slama Jama team reached No. 2 in 1983-84. No. 9 Oklahoma made a massive leap from No. 24 after becoming the second team in 25 years to beat three straight top-10 teams. No. 25 Drake is ranked for the first time since 2007-08.
