Our guest this episode is the magnificent Rev from Seattle's own, The Drowns. I can't believe that Rev and I never met before or became tight bros through all of our collective time in Seattle. But, let me say that I'm grateful to know him now. What a dude and what a cool band! Rev and The Drowns will be playing Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas this month as well as leaving on tour in Europe this summer including another go at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool (UK). I was just as pleased as a pig in shit to host this episode with Aaron Beam of Portland's own Red Fang. I've been a fan of the band for quite a long time and have enjoyed seeing them every time time I've had the opportunity. The band is currently taking a break to gather itself and get some fresh air but has recently released Deep Cuts, an album of rarities, demos, covers and odd & ends, to celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band. My guest this episode is the charming and talented Frank Meyer of Street Walkin' Cheetahs, FEAR, Dick Manitoba and many other punk and punk-leaning bands. Frank and I met on the recent Duff McKagan tour and had a great time chatting backstage at the shows but a lot of this talk is limited to relatively small talk. It was an absolute pleasure to get a chance to hear some of his stories about his early musical experiences and growing up in LA. Our guest this episode is Ben London, the Executive Director of Sonic Guild, an organization that every year grant's unrestricted funds to musical artists of all genres. Ben has lived in Seattle WA for over 35 years and is the guitarist in local favorites, STAG, as well as the former singer/guitarist of Alcohol Funnycar. He has previously worked for the Grammys, EMP museum, and has held a number of other music industry positions before finding himself at Sonic Guild.

Sonic Guild will be awarding 2025 artist recipients at a show and ceremony on February 22, 2025 at The Triple Door in Seattle WA. Last year's show was absolutely fantastic and I encourage you to attend and check out some of the massive talents that are bubbling up from the Seattle music scene!

Rising to notoriety in the 80s with a series of hits and tours, MixaLot put Seattle rap on the map and put him at the top of the charts for 5 weeks with Baby Got Back, a hit that has stood the test of time.
