Could your Undiagnosed Symptoms be an Autoimmune Condition? | Dr. Nicole Bundy & Dr. Millie Lytle

Listen Later

Autoimmune diseases affect more than 24 million people in America alone. Exhausting to experience and difficult to diagnose, autoimmunity is an issue that’s gaining more research in modern medicine. Doctors, immunologists, and patients all want answers.

Dr. Nicole Bundy, a licensed, board-certified internist and rheumatologist, and Dr. Millie Lytle, a licensed naturopathic doctor, epidemiologist and nutrition specialist, both of whom work for Mymee, provide incredible insight into the dynamics of autoimmune disease to help you find the answers you need.

We discuss:

  • Autoimmune disease prevalence & symptoms
  • How autoimmune disease in your family history may impact your own health outlook
  • What to do if your doctor says s/he can’t help you with your symptoms, which could be related to an autoimmune disease
  • Which type of doctor do you need to see for a possible autoimmune condition
  • The role your lifestyle and medications play in your healing from an autoimmune condition
  • The future of autoimmune disease

“If you find yourself routinely taking 3-5 medications just to get through your day (e.g., pain medication, anti-inflammatory medication, antihistamines, sleep aid) for symptom control, that is a sign something is not in balance. Putting these band-aids on signals it is time to take a deeper look.” - Dr. Nikki Bundy
