Bonus pod today. You may recall the story The Ox told us last week about having his place burgled 7 times in one night, well there's been a development and we couldn't hold off until next weeks show to find out about it. The Ox has come face to face with the bloke who burgled his joint, and Ox says that he wanted to smash him. How did the meeting go? Ox explains all on the pod.
Which leads to a discussion about the name Trevor, the burglars name. It's 'Aussie as', but not all that common. We chat about other 'Aussie as' names.
And this weekend Ox makes his return to SEN for the footy, make sure to tune in!
As always, we're here thanks to Paul & Kurt at the E&S Trading Clearance Centre in Clayton, Melbourne on Dandenong Road - right opposite Ikea. After an incredible deal on amazing gear? You won't believe the prices....absolute rippers!
We'd love you to follow a Couple of Blokes, and get involved with the show on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. If you've got a comment or feedback, feel free to send a voicemail to Ox and Marko here. And don't forget to subscribe, rate and review the podcast wherever you listen!

We kick off the show with some great news, Ox is back on radio involved with the SEN footy call. He's pumped, and Marko and Third Man are rapt for the big man. Ox discusses the new role, and how he's really happy to be back with SEN. He tells the story of how he worked for SEN for a long time, got fired, and is now back. He says that SEN saved his life, and explains why. He also talks about a journey of self-growth that he has been on to remove resentment, jealousy and hate, which he admits to suffering from when he was fired from SEN. and coming out the other side of that with a role at SEN, as he calls it, being back home. Ox talks about why he loves SEN - and it's all to do with the people.
After pumping up the Ox's tyres (deservedly) Marko raises a first world problem that he needs some advice on. It's do to with his teenager daughter giving him attitude. We explore the issues and try to diagnose the underlying challenge. Not sure that it helped.
Ox has a business idea that he wants to run to by the team, but before he can get to that, the hotline rings and it's Sam from Dingley in Melbourne who is calling to make a comment on a sporting hero who has let him down. This sporting hero may be a host on this very podcast.
We then discover Mark Allen doesn't know who Jimmy Carr is. Which Ox is amazed by.
Back to Ox's business idea. It's do with lost golf balls, and Mark loves the idea. We'll need to get the podcast patent department onto this one. Marko comes up with a name, Ox comes up with a slogan. Team effort.
Marko has been made aware of something that has shocked him. To do with Ricky Ponting. Marko decides an investigation is required and it is named 'Operation Bourbon, Beefsteak and Toorak'.
Ox raises weather reporters. He has a concern that they are dramatising the weather forecast more than is required - which then for some strange reason turns into a political conversation. Blame Ox.
Feedback. Plenty of it, and there is a whack for one of the team, and it's a big one.
And during feedback we find a resolution to the potato cake vs potato scallop debate with help from the family.
Ox reveals that he is a big fan of Robert Irwin, Steve Irwins son, and reckons he is a future superstar.
We're about to wrap up the show, when we get a message from Trout from Woodend who wants to have a chat about Ox's new gig at SEN, and he's got some advice for Marko on his content selection on the podcast.
And as usual we wrap it up with the joke wheel - today it lands on the fish category.
As always, we're here thanks to Paul & Kurt at the E&S Trading Clearance Centre in Clayton, Melbourne on Dandenong Road - right opposite Ikea. After an incredible deal on amazing gear? We start today with feedback on our bonus pod on the 1998 Presidents Cup. If you didn't hear it, it's here. Marko's phone has exploded with calls and messages, as has our socials and emails. Marko had a close run-in with a mate of the 'offender' who it turns out is yet to hear that the story is out.
Ox is renovating a house and has been burgled. He knows who the person is, due to his ring cam. However, you won't believe what the bloke pinched from Ox's front yard - some things to be expected, others a surprise. When it happened, Ox was away at a wedding, and something went wrong with certain animals at the wedding at a point where they were intended to represent love and romance. Raises a business idea from Ox and Marko, which may or may not be workable. Ox then has another business idea to do with drones. And we have an update on Darren the Bankers business idea: a slogan from family member Malcolm which may just one-up Ox's slogan.
Back to weddings. Marko tells a story about a wedding he went to in the US years ago, where the 'you may kiss the bride' moment went a bit next level to the horror of the family (and Marko!). Ox and Marko both feel tongue-pashing at a wedding is only suitable if you're getting married in Vegas.
Third Man raises some civil selfishness that he wants input from Ox and Marko on, to do with the price of beer at pubs. We are all in vigorous agreement that beer prices are outrageous. $15 for a pint of Carlton Draught. Your thoughts?
Marko has a message from his mate Brent who is in Adelaide on holidays and has seen a basketball hoop at a local park that he loves. Ox is unhappy with Brent who is spamming his mates with too many pics of his holiday. Ox believes that they can't be friends anymore and that Brent is a wanker. This does bring up a business idea. Which Ox and Marko reckon has legs. Being an 'anti-influencer' posting only bad things that happen to you.
Voicemail from Andrew on the Corio Roadhouse, which Ox raved about last week. Lots of feedback. Ox tells a story about Gary Ablett Snr going to the Corio Roadhouse, Marko follows up with another Ablett Snr story. There has been debate over the slang term Sanga vs Sambo, and Potato Cake vs Scallop. Ox sees this as an opportunity to bag Third Man's hometown, Wollongong. We chat about the brilliant new Kia ad here.
A family member wants Ox to be put on probation over his caddyshack comments, Marko gives a great bit of trivia about Caddyshack which blows us all away. And the show ends on a low note with some appalling dolphin jokes.

Marko has come in annoyed with Cricket Australia's marketing team because he was not aware of the recent New Zealand tour. He reckons Cricket Australia should spend less on playing cricket, and more on advertising it. Seems strange, but that's Marko's view. Ox agrees, and he reckons Pay TV is the problem. Consensus from Ox and Marko is that there is too much cricket at the moment. Ox feels that Cricket Australia need a new jingle, it has been too long since this classic jingle.
Whilst on sport, we chat about the NRL season just starting, and the AFL season a day away. Ox discusses the challenges with the Melbourne Demons and his view is that some of the problems go back to the Dees not doing a deal with former boss Glenn Bartlett. Ox reckons the Dees issues will get worse before they get better.
Marko has a Civil Selfishness to report, in addition to Cricket Australia, and it's to do with his local council. Specifically the council street-sweepers. Feels more like a first world problem but who are we to judge. Ox raises a first world problem of his own. He is renovating a place at the moment with some mates, and he is having problems with the skip on the street. Ox has come up with a genius solution to stop the skip-abuse.
We discuss normal bins and if you can 'use' your neighbours bins, and what the rules are. Love your thoughts on socials.
Ox has got a business idea that he is very excited about. Not trademarked yet, so keep it on the downlow. It is an idea for lonely people, and is designed to enable meeting people. Which reminds us to call Darren the Banker who has a business idea, but needs Ox's help with a slogan. Does Ox deliver? You know he does.
Back onto the footy, with the AFL season a day away, we have a chat about the season and get Ox and Marko's tips on who they reckon will win, and why. Ox is not tipping his Demons, and Marko is not tipping his Pies - find out who they're tipping and why. Whilst we're yakking footy, the SMS alert goes off, and we have a voicemail that has come through. Which dovetails into preconceptions about names, and people who you would not have a beer with based on their name alone. If we have disparaged your name on the pod, we apologise!
Plenty of feedback today, including a Civil Selfishness submission from Mick Anderson. It's a ripper. And a massive whack, perhaps a little undeserved, for a member of the team from a Couple of Blokes family member. Also, the results of our recent poll on whether you buy Mako's ridiculous view that the cop who pulled him over recently was flirting with him.

*** Content Warning ***
Bonus podcast today. And we have a content warning on this one, it is edgy, there's no way for Marko to tell this particular story without some of those details, and if you are easily offended we suggest you don't listen.
This is a very inappropriate golf story that Marko tells about an incident at the Presidents Cup golf in 1998 at Royal Melbourne. This story has, to the best of Marko's knowledge, never been told publicly before. The tournament featured golf legends Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Peter Thomson and plenty of other big names. None of those golfers were the incriminating person in this story by the way, they were completely innocent. Marko has been considering how to tell this story for weeks, months now. Ox and Third Man have refused to allow him to tell it on the normal podcast, it needs to live in a contained bonus podcast where you, our family members, can make your own decision on whether you listen.

No mucking around this week, Marko has come in hot. At the start of the show Marko raises a 'first world problem' to do with his insanely expensive bed, specifically to do with the remote control. How on earth will he get through this terrible situation.
Ox has made a decision about golf trips with his mates. It's to do with the sleeping arrangements with his mates, driven by complaints about bad nocturnal behaviour from his group of mates. Marko raises something that he doesn't like on trips with mates, and Ox is in vigorous agreement. Leads to Ox requiring the cone of silence to reveal some stories about Melbourne Demons footy club trips, and what the Dees called 'the Monkey Committee', made up of Garry Lyon, Todd Viney and Brett Lovett.
Ox bangs on again about Temu, the website he has found and loves. He is spending a small fortune on it. Marko is fast becoming a fan.
Civili Selfishness. Ox lines up Marko, he believes Marko is being selfish. Specifically, Ox believes Marko's kids are being selfish in requiring lifts to and from school. This brings up a business idea of Marko's about schoolbags for kids. Ox then raises another business side for schoolbags, inspired by Back to the Future.
Marko suggests that we do an episode of the podcast live from Geelong, given Ox lives there and Third Man loves Geelong. Ox raves about the Corio Roadhouse's sambo's, and tells a story about being in Vegas and his mate recommended he try the sambo's at the Chicken Ranch in Vegas. Turns out the Chicken Ranch is not a takeaway food place, but something slightly less wholesome.
Ox reveals that he does not rate Caddyshack. Marko and Third Man are horrified. Caddyshack 2 however, everyone agrees was awful. We chat about appalling sequels.
We have had some feedback, quite a bit, including a message from family member Brooksy, on something that Ox said a couple of weeks ago which is a clear indication he is getting old. To do with a conversation around Married With Children (here), where Ox made an error. Ox doesn't believe it and believes Brooksy misheard, so we go to the tape. Family member Alan who reckons we should stop yakking about KFC and pump up small businesses. Ox encourages it, if you have a takeaway or small business let us know and we'll pump it up. Message from Mark (not Marko) who wants Marko to stop saying 'Hey Siri' on the show as it is causing issues for him.
We have a Can We Still Be Friends question from Dave in Launceston about the TV show Married at First Sight, love your thoughts.
And with Ox wearing a 'golf father' t-shirt today, the wheel lands on a 'godfather' joke...extraordinary.
As always, we're here thanks to Paul & Kurt at the E&S Trading Clearance Centre in Clayton, Melbourne on Dandenong Road - right opposite Ikea. After an incredible deal on amazing gear? You won't believe the prices....absolute rippers!

Marko is torn. He has what he calls an amazing, yet massively inappropriate story about something that happened in the golfing world in 1998 which has never been publicly told. He wants to tell the story, but Ox bans the story from being told on the podcast. Marko pushes on with his desire to tell the story. It doesn't happen on the pod today, and we'll need to take it offline to see if there is a possibility it can be told. We'll get back to you on this and see where it lands.
On with the show. Ox claims to be an expert on KFC, and reckons nobody knows more about KFC than he does. He tells a story about a bad experience at KFC - which can happen at any food joint, so it's not a crack at KFC - and it's a shocker. It happened the night before his first ever trip on a plane.
Marko raises a concern. Ox promised the family photos of his yabby trip, and he has not shared one single photo. Marko wants to see the pics. We'll whack em on socials. Ox chats about the trip, what the bait they used was - did they find some rabbits for bait? And how did the fruit work? Ox talks about zipping around the farm on a quad bike, and how dangerous they are. Ox and Marko talk about the time the brakes failed in a golf cart that Ox was driving, and a massive crash followed.
Family member Kevvie reckons he has a fact about KFC that Ox and Marko won't know. We give him a buzz. Leads to a convo about slogans the boys love. Ox and Marko know they loved the old AFL one from a hundred years ago, but they can't remember it....luckily sound guy Daz does, and digs it out. It's a ripper. Ox also liked the old Carlton footy club campaign, but for different reasons.
You may recall we spoke to Ox's Mum Mary on the show a week or two ago, and Marko checks in on how Mary's going after the somewhat heated chat on the podcast. If you haven't heard that pod it's episode 53 here and worth a listen.
Ox has a Civil Selfishness story to do with the Police. He's unhappy with them, and gives them a whack. If you're a cop, we'd love to hear your feedback on Ox's comments, you can be anonymous. Marko tells us about being pulled over by a booze bus and cracking a gag to the policewoman, it didn't end well. Ox reckons the cop was flirting with Marko, Third Man disagrees. Marko, unsurprisingly, is easily convinced that the policewoman was flirting with him. Ox and Marko then discuss what uniforms they find sexy.
We've had feedback on Marko whinging about his back getting sore when he whipper snips, and it reminds Marko of another example of Civil Selfishness to do with his local council and nature strips. Then the pod could take a pear-shaped twist when we have some feedback from Ox's accountant! The hotline goes and it's Mick on the phone with a suggestion for Marko's whipper-snipping issue.
And we wrap up with a couple of Johnny Cash songs, just before todays joke about yabbys. Who'd have thought.

A short bonus pod today, Ox and Third Man wanted to check in with Marko on how his Valentines Day ended up. You might recall in the pod earlier this week (Ep54 here) , Marko talked up his Valentines Day game - he wears a superman costume, Trish has a catwoman outfit - and it's the one day of the year where he is (at least this is what he told us) guaranteed romance.
So how did it go? Marko explains on todays short bonus pod.

It's the day of love today, and Ox reveals his theory on Valentine's Day which has to do with a couple of blokes who invented this day with ulterior motives. Marko disagrees, and sees today as his moment to shine. He plans out his approach to Valentines day weeks in advance, and says it is his one day of the year when he is a lock. Ox still thinks the whole thing is a rort.
However...Ox has a business idea to do with Valentine's Day, and surprisingly it's not actually too bad. It's a brand new app idea which requires the cone of silence given he is yet to trademark the idea. Love to hear your thoughts on his business idea.
Midway through the cone of silence, family member Tommy from Darwin calls in to clarify something he heard on the pod back at Christmas to do with speed limits on the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory. Whilst Tommy is on the phone, Ox wants his view on Valentine's Day and what his plans are for tonight. Tommy gives a weather update for Darwin given it's about to get smashed with buckets of rain.
Back onto Ox's business idea, we explore other versions of the original idea, and there are some rippers. We reckon we might be multi-millionaires very soon.
Ox is worried about Marko's Valentine's Day romance given a couple of weeks ago Marko lined Trish up for not cleaning the coffee machine - and he asks about the coffee machine conversation.
We then hear about Ox's love for animal documentaries, he saw a doco recently on Hyenas and an Impala, with a Black Mamba. He loved it. Given Ox's newfound for Black Mambas, Marko then reveals that his favourite animal is the Meerkat. We discuss David Attenborough and how the world will be in shock when he passes. Ox wants to know who would be a bigger death on a worldwide scale than David....we can't think of anyone, let us know if you can? Ox then suggests Michael Jordan might be bigger than David Attenborough.
Marko has a Can Will Still Be Friends scenario that he is after some advice on. It's to do with a professional golfer, and his kids. Ox smells a rat with this 'friend' of Marko's. Ox blames Trish and believes there is an issue with her.
We then chat Reality TV shows, if Ox and Marko had to choose 3 shows to go on, what would they be? Love to know yours, what 3 would you choose? In a brave, or perhaps stupid, move Marko suggests Wife Swap. Divorce is looking more likely all the time. Ox then reveals another business idea, this one a TV show concept - Gogglebox for footy fans. Both Ox and Marko are big fans of Gogglebox, but didn't realise that one of the contestants passed away recently. Ox reveals a fun fact about Gogglebox.
Third Man reveals his wife's supermarket hack. It's a ripper. But...Ox and Marko are unhappy about it and believe both Third Man and his wife Jay are out of line. Feedback please.
On the wheel today - who'd have thought, a joke about Valentine's Day.
We'd love you to follow a Couple of Blokes, and get involved with the show on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Big show today, and we kick off with a chat about swearing and one specific word. A bit loose, but possibly driven by the that Ox has come in with a massive hangover after drinking a thousand beers last night with a mate who was heading overseas. He's murdering some hangover food during the pod, and his voice is a bit worse for wear. Unprofessional, but not surprising.
Last week on the show The Ox decided that he wanted an apology from his Mum Mary for buying him a Bumblebee bike when he was a kid. So Marko has arranged, without Ox's knowledge, to call Mary on the show today and put it to her. We'll call her shortly.
Given Ox's hangover, we discuss what are Ox and Marko's go to hangover feeds. Ox's is KFC, and he reveals that he has cracked the code of the herbs and spices. Marko admits that he had KFC in the car on the way to the pod today. Ox says he will reveal the recipe if the family want to know. He's also tried the recipe on Mushrooms and Cauliflower and reckon it works a treat.
Ox then reveals why he likes the Bangles Eternal Flame so much, and it has to do with some fun he once had in a Ford Laser in 1988 with a lady called Lesley. Mark then reveals his first 'car pash' which ends up in complete disarray. Ox tells a story about Susannah Hoffs and Eternal Flame that he has told 100 times, and Marko always forgets.
Mark reminds Third Man about homework that he had to arrange a full service servo bloke to come on the pod and have a chat. It didn't go well.
Marko has a First World Problem that he wants to discuss, and it has to do with his wife Trish. There is trouble in paradise and Trish cannot know about this, so Marko requests the cone of silence be lowered - which is a rock solid way to ensure his comments remain in the cone and are never discussed again. It's a big issue, and Marko needs advice. As usual, Ox has some advice for Marko.
Ox also has a First World Problem, to do with pedestrian crossings at traffic lights. Hard to disagree with him. He has a technique that he is using which solves the issue, possibly illegal, but effective. Third Man has a question for Ox and Marko to do with pedestrians and puddles.
Okay, time to call Mary about Ox's request for an apology. Marko is on team Mary and doesn't believe an apology is appropriate. Does Ox back down in the face of Mary, or does he hold his position? One thing's for certain - Mary arcs up and has plenty of stories about Ox when he was a kid and absolutely gives Ox a rinsing on a number of issues, which is very funny. But did Mary apologise ? Find out on the pod.
And Mary explains how the infamous Eddie McGuire conversation went after her son was hit in the face with a pie on the Footy Show. Very funny.
Some feedback from the family - keep it coming we love it. We wrap up the show with a Mum joke, inspired by Ox's beautiful Mum Mary.
