  • 5. When I Have ______, Then I'll Be Happy

This episode details the classic false premise of the mind: when I have x, then I'll be happy. I'll finally feel ok, I'll truly be able to relax when _____. This is a classic law of attraction trap that keeps us from manifesting what we desire. I talk about how we can recognize when we're in this state and what we can do to shift out of it.

    00:00:00 - 00:04:49 - general intro

00:04:49 - 00:13:12 intro to attracting vs chasing

    00:13:12 - 00:18:33 how I kept perpetuating the reality that I didn't like

    00:18:33 - 00:28:15 the mentality of "I'll finally feel good when ____"

00:28:15 - 00:42:53 empowering spin on your current reality

    00:42:53 - 00:50:31 self-sourcing the feelings that we want

00:50:31 - 01:01:24 living with your heart open

01:01:24 - 01:29:24 how to drop resistance to where you're at now

19:28 - 23:05 why the strength of your belief matters

23:05 - 30:16 why you cannot ignore/avoid your pain, trauma, fears, etc.

30:16 - 35:07 everything is energy and everything is connected

35:07 - 40:08 responding vs reacting to what arises externally and internally

    40:08 - 48:05 surfing metaphor, flow vs force/struggle

  • 3. Self-Compassion and Surrender

In this episode I go into detail about the two things that were most incremental in me climbing out of what mentally felt like a huge hole (living at my parents' house in my early 30s). Those two things were self-compassion and surrender. I'm so glad I started learning about them then because it turns out they're actually foundational keys to life.

    00:00 - 08:16 thank yous + why I wanted to start a podcast

08:16 - 11:11 intro to how I *graduated* from living with my parents

    11:11 - 22:42 self-compassion and how I apply it

    22:42 - 27:34 how self-compassion built my confidence

27:34 - 43:26 how I gently led myself towards moving out

43:26 - 57:04 how surrendering helped me make a good move

57:04 - 59:40 more on surrender and what it's NOT

59:40 - 1:10:27 how I'm still not always great at surrendering lol

  • 2. The Gifts of a Rock Bottom

In this episode I go into detail about a rock bottom-y time of my life, when I lived with my parents from age 29-32 and felt like a too-damaged-for-the-world loser. I talk about how that time cracked me open to begin healing wounds and negative beliefs I've carried about myself since childhood. Without that bottom, I don't know when I would've started doing the inner work that has made my life so much more rich and enjoyable.

I also make the connection between those early wounds and the times in my current life where I grasp for control in weird ways. Again, without having begun the journey of inner work years ago, I wouldn't know how to recognize when I'm operating from a place of fear and those acute feelings of shame that occasionally resound through my body. From the outside, my rock bottom gave people (myself included) plenty of reasons to judge me. And simultaneously, it ignited a process of profound healing and inner growth.

  • 1. My Inner Critic, Becoming Lost and Then Even More Lost

Chasing the high of viral videos on TikTok and the influx of cash that came along with them, I got a little lost in 2022. I forgot what mattered tbh. And now I'm remembering what actually matters. Starting this podcast is something I've wanted to do for a long time. In this episode I give you a glimpse of what it looks like inside my mind when my inner critic is running the show. I also talk about why I cry a lot, but there's no crying in this episode. And there's no crying in baseball. Thank you for listening!
