  • "From Idolatry for Worship"
What are you made for? We each have gifts given for a specific purpose. However, each and every person has been made for something that is not unique to you but is held in common. We have been made to worship. We have been made with the capacity to know that One we worship. How do we know this? We will always find something or someone to worship.
Idolatry is something worshiped that is not worthy of that worship: our ideals, activities, ideas, people, ourselves, and the most common idol our stuff. But the worship of our self-created idols will never fulfill us because these are not responsive things and we were created to worship a living God. How worthless are your idols when we have a living God who walks with you along the way touching your heart with the Holy Spirit?

  • "From Divisiveness for Reconciliation"
Some of us feel threatened by others' accomplishments. Our defensiveness can lead to divisiveness leading us on a path of self-justification. But through the story of David and Saul, in 1 Samuel 24, the Holy Spirit reminds us that we are already justified in Christ.

  • "From Indifference For Passion"
Studying the words presented to the Church in Laodicea we see how pride and self-sufficiency can get in the way of our faith. The opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy. We cannot say we love someone yet ignore them unless we need them. That's not love. Yet we do this to Jesus all the time. We pull Him out when we want to appear righteous and ignore Him the rest of the time. What if we instead fully loved and committed ourselves to Jesus? What passion could be ignited in your life?

  • From Hurry for Rest
Do you ever feel like in spite of your best efforts to be a person of spiritual and mental depth, you often tend to feel more empty than full? More dry than rich? More disjointed than connected? If that's you, what you may be experiencing is what Ronald Rolheiser describes as, "pathological busyness." Though modern culture glorifies a busy and rushed life, is God's best really for us to be dragged about by our schedules and smartphones instead of the other way around? Tune into this week's message to hear Jesus' invitation for the tired and spiritually distant.

  • "From Chaos, for Order"
Our lives are not meant to be ruled by chaos. When God frees us from chaos, He frees us for a purpose: To allow Him to order our lives and to spread that order all through the chaos of the world. This can only be accomplished through surrendering our will to His and allowing God's presence and Word to rule in our lives, just as it did in Genesis chapter 1.
