  • BRAIN INJURY RADIO - CHANGE
SPECIAL LABOR DAY SHOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON You all get to be the first to know, it has been a epic turn of emotions within myself, as I become confortable with who I am the world continues to have a different vision for me.  I want everyone to know I absolutely love what I do and believe everything I say, and the hope I see is beyond my wildest imagination.  The fact remains the world is cold and hard and people will let you down.  Between organization bullshit, psychopathic liars, organizations working to brand themselves.  As much as I love something my continued path is going to lead me to homelessness, it has already broke me.  I am not giving up, though I will be discontinuing a lot of the things I was involved with mainly because it is breaking me, and secondly the powers that believe don’t believe in the message.  As well along the way my heart fell for someone, I didn’t even recognize it, and to have my essence fall for someone I really don’t know and I certainly could never read how they felt so I will never know but its been part of this change.  There becomes a time when we must move on, between the politics, this love that don’t make since, and games that people play, I am done, my focus is going to be the radio network, sustaining brain injury groups, I am meeting with my assistant this week Linda, she has to be the key to it all.  She will continue with the web work and networking that survivors need that only survivors can bring, I will be working with our new board, they are going to be doing some amazing things creating new groups and communities, I am going to put a lot of effort in moving in which will be through the public libraries and hopefully available nationally, as well as fitness, art and social group models.  This is going to be a huge let down for some. up close and personal

  • This Life We Live - Hosted by Craig Sicilia
TBI Websites - Radio Network - Life Overwelming TBI is a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings that come and go, and we the riders go for the ride good and bad in a confusion of feelings we must understand, how do we do it, what makes it easier and harder I had to take a couple of weeks to get my mind back, granted with a brain injury that is pretty vague, my brain was burnt, i needed to do some self expression, reflection and get the fog out I think I am ready to do it again bigger and better I need more people to help and to pace things out and of course learn the word no  and when to use is We will talk about the up coming radio network have a sample page up long way from final but here is what i think it needs to look like http://braininjuryradionetwork.com We will as well talk about state brain injury sites and what the new standard should be, if a site is all about fundraising stay away see how money is used if you don't see it ask some organizations are raising hundreds and hundreds of thousands and only a few thousand dollars actually get used to support survivors and their families, this is a shame with all the great organizations doing powerful things big organizations are wasting this valuable money on wages and branding their organizations to make bigger profits to pay themselves more.  Here is what I think websites should be everything all on one page, multiple languages, the information right their and assistance if needed.  I am hoping that Washington state sets the standard on what its page should look like...   check it out everything is just a couple of clicks away and you never leave the page  http://tbiwa.org

  • ADVOCATE THIS
Lets talk about the bills that need to get passed now, ones that are national and help the surivivors directly many funds go through so many channels they is nothing actually left "We light the fireworks on the Fourth of July. We pull people out of burning buildings. We teach children not to play with matches. By one estimate, we save taxpayers $37 billion a year. Few people embody America's ideals like it's 1.1 million volunteer firefighters. Gritty, charitable, self-reliant, we answer millions of calls for help each year T Michael Nicholson Public Safety Officers, Police, Firefighters, Volunteer Firefighters etc. answer numerous calls for assistance in our communities all across the United States regardless of the caller's political affiliation. HR-3367 needs to be co-sponsored by all political parties in Congress and there needs to be a 'same as' bill in the Senate, so that those seriously and permanently injured prior to 1990 can collect this Federal benefit. My message is to those that have a physical disability or are a survivor of a Traumatic Brain Injury, don't ever give up on your dreams. You’re an American. You have rights. Take part in how the laws in your State and Government are written. Respectfully,

  • Making Connections
" Making connections" Being brain injured sometimes makes it tough to understand what our family and loved ones are saying. Understanding what is actually being said is difficult for most adults, but someone who has communication troubles will find it even tougher. When our loved ones get frustrated that "we just don't get it" and say "never mind", we usually have no idea what just happened. Interpreting body language, reading between the lines and listening carefully are all important skills in forging new pathways in social settings. How do you know someone is interested in you? Can you tell what signals are being sent? We will explore these things and hopefully give survivors some new hope in reading people like a book.

  • LIVING OUT LOUD - brain injury awareness Craig Sicilia
LIVING OUT LOUD March is brain injury awareness month.  As far as we have came we have a long way to go.  People do not understand, or know how prevalent brain injury is and the diverse effects it has on society.  We will be having several guests on what they are doing to create awareness in their communities,m from big to small way every little thing we can do to bring know knowledge to our disability.   My perspective is that to many people have created big business on us for to many years, talking our experience and journey our of our souls and have had the power one what is going to happen to us.  SEVERAL INTERVIEWS  OF SOME AMAZING PEOPLE who have reached thousand of people and are bringing our community together. My goal is for us to be the catalyst of change that we the survivors control our destiny, I believe that we are our own best experts on what we need.  Many times professionals are causing as much harm to us as the disability it self.  We the brain injury community need to be united and I believe it has been professionals that have oppressed us for centuries proclaiming they are the experts.  We will talk about some of the awareness projects that have brought awareness to brain injury what has worked and what hasn't as well as the TBI Global Picnic happening all around the world how you can get involved and create awareness in your community yes
