  • Ep #42: Hand me the Vgrits!- Vegan Chef and Restaurant Owner- Kristina Addington
Our guest today is Kristina from Vgrits. Vgrits is one of Louisville’s premier vegan restaurants that specializes in putting health, wellness, sustainability, and animal welfare at the forefront. The eatery is known for soulful, “stick to your ribs” cuisine while satisfying any picky carnivore. But Kristina’s journey began way before the doors of Vgrits opened. Knowing how hard it was to find vegan friendly items at the local grocer, she took to the kitchen herself. She even admits some of her early dishes were pretty cringe worthy. But after playing around with flavors and techniques Kristina landed herself on a food competition show. Kristina then capitalized on her momentum and quickly opened her first food truck. And truckin’ ain’t easy! From food truck to restaurant, this is a great story of taking your nurturing vibe and letting it take you where you need to be. She has this amazing way of staying on the path that aligns with her beliefs while having an open ear to community around her. Kristina has even taken on another big role in her life. You will fall in love with this sweet soulful vegan. Enjoy!
