Another week, another inspiring Milwaukee woman. 

If 2025 is the year you are determined to understand what the heck is going on in our political landscape - both at the local, state and national level - you are going to want to tune in to this week’s episode with Kristin Brey. Kristin is a radio personality, a writer and producer of online content, and a Milwaukee woman who is determined to help us all care a little more about what’s happening around us by breaking the news down into bite sized pieces that are easy to digest and understand. And while she’s hesitant to call herself a ‘journalist’ or ‘comedian,’ I would argue she’s definitely both. Hilarious and informative. Side-splittingly funny and also a helpful and articulate guide to comprehending today’s world.

Yep, it's December. The holidays are upon us. Which means, I'm taking a small break. But before I do, let me recap the lessons from Season six and remind you of the INCREDIBLE Milwaukee women who have been on this podcast for the last few months!

Another week, another inspiring Milwaukee woman. 

You may know Teens Grow Greens from their delightful collection of summer herbs and vegetables over at Weber’s Greenhouse (and if you don’t, you should!) But did you know that MORE than just greens, this organization is growing the next generation of leaders in our city. Through their internship and apprenticeship programs, Teens Grow Greens gives these young leaders the opportunity to try their hand in the garden and the greenhouse, as well as in roles that nurture their business acumen, marketing and entrepreneurial skills. 

Today on the pod, I talk with Nalani Moesch, the greenhouse lead and apprentice mentor with Teens Grow Greens about their offerings beyond what we can look forward to next spring when the annuals and perennials are ready for our planting beds!

That’s because she and her team of farmers at Hunger Task Force in Franklin are growing and harvesting THAT MANY fruits and vegetables for local food pantries, shelters and families around greater Milwaukee.
