6-Figure Secrets

Creating intentional internal and external dialogues as a mompreneur with Tara Whitaker

Listen Later

Tara Whitaker is a freelance book editor who also helps aspiring editors launch their work-from-home editing businesses. Tara helps eliminate the overwhelm and loneliness that can come with creating a freelance business from scratch with her membership program, the Freelance Editors Club. The club provides education, support, and accountability for new freelance editors so that they can strategically build their businesses without the fluff--and have fun in the process!

TAKEAWAYS:

+ Tara’s super power is helping her clients develop and implement a specific and clear path to get their freelance editing business up and running with a focus on the work that produces results, first.

+ The first step that Tara all recommends her students take in starting their own freelance editing business is mindset. The words we use outward, as well as inward, are important and inform how we experience situations, interactions, and how we act (or don’t act) inside of our businesses.

+ As words, language, and world events evolve and morph, especially after a year like 2020, it’s important to make sure that the words we are continuing to use aren’t perceived as tone deaf, insensitive, or downright rude, despite our good intentions! Listening as we create to how others are speaking about topics is a really important skill to have as we navigate a world that is ever-evolving.
