Creative Contact w/ Kia Orion

Let's talk turkey. Larry Brown is a West Philadelphia native who specializes in residential and commercial property all throughout PA. When his dreams of playing ball got destroyed by a thieving coach (yo fuck that dude for real tho), he turned his focus to business. If you're into property or real estate you're going to want to hear what he has to say. Larry talks about dropping out of college with one semester left, working at Vitamin Shoppe, and tips on how to survive in one of the hottest real estate markets in the game.

The talk with Larry starts around 4:20.

There's so much I admire about this man I don't know where to start. Dexter Thomas has worked for the LA Times and is currently a correspondent at VICE News Tonight on HBO. If you've ever wondered what it's like behind the scenes of a news company this is the one for you. He was at the Williamsburg hotel for work and was kind enough to give me some time. He also bought me breakfast. We spoke for close to three hours and he said very nice things about me, none of which made it in the episode. What we do talk about are how he chooses the stories he pursues, BTS of a VICE story, and what it's like to interview Keenan Thompson from SNL. The interview with Dex starts around 4:18.

Shout out this dude for being one of the realest in the game.

Hands down one of my favorite interviews I've ever done. I traveled to Jersey City to get this man on the mic. KC is the founder and manager of NuBlack Music Group, a management company established in 2011 that is abandoning the sanctity of convention in life & in sound. I met KC in college soon after he had a career-ending football injury. He turned that same focus he had for sports into creating a platform for artists with incredible voices to share their unique stories. We talk about how he established the label, his Nigerian parent's Romeo & Juliet love story, and chop it up about crazy rap battles back in the glory days. The interview with KC starts around 4:45. Joe Kleanest also makes a guest appearance.

Bruh. This man really does it all. From creating eye-catching visuals to unique sonic landscapes Blue Boy LAZ is a renaissance man. We talk about creating your own reality, the process of finding your own voice, Yu Yu Hakusho, and a bunch of other cool shit that's too much for these show notes. I also butcher some Jay-Z lyrics and awkwardly talk about my family/Thanksgiving. The interview with LAZ starts @8:30.

BBL just dropped his new single GUARANTEE ft. JAKKDARHYMER which was co-produced by friend of the podcast Bad Mood Randall. Check it out here- https://soundcloud.com/blueboylaz/gaurantee-ft-jakkdarhymer-prod-badmoodrandall-x-barry-nello

Ay. We back. Welcome to the first ever second episode of Orion Radio. Come sit down with me and Randall as we talk about creating an alter-ego, the Boston punk scene, and how important it is to find your voice creatively. Randall is a singer/producer/engineer/all around creative dude who used to tour the world as a drummer and is now making hip-hop/r&b jams in philly. He's fresh off the release of his new song "Bruise" which you can find below.

At some point we end up talking about our most influential books and couldn't remember the name of one. Get at me if you make it that far and I'll tell you which one it was...
