In this weeks episode we talk to local creative artist Veronica "Fox" Grijalva @fox.and.tea There are coloring books, and there are galleries - Desert Gems is the meeting point for both. It is as interactive as a coloring book, allowing anyone to become an artist! Each piece is accompanied by a statement from the original artist, creating depth and personalizing that piece to the creator for what otherwise would simply be a drawing. The idea for the Desert Gems Collaborative Coloring Gallery came from being a part of the art community that exists in El Paso, Tx and Las Cruces, NM. Enjoy the Show 🔥

The recently turned mother has been a faithful supporter of the art community in El Paso, TX since 2011, though she never quite took to exposing her art or passions--until now. After having dabbled in modeling for 5 years, she hopes to be welcomed and embraced in the art community as she embarks on this new artistic venture.

Storytelling has always been her core of art. @gibeel Gibel Amador is a Latina filmmaker and poet from the borderland. Raised in both El Paso and Juarez, her experiences as a Latina in this region have informed her understanding of storytelling and narrative.
Working from an early age as a model, Gibel decided to put herself in control of her own narrative, placing her eye behind the camera and behind the script. Filmmaking and photography came naturally to her from so much experience in the industry, but the writing was the missing piece.

His films are created with meticulously crafted and thought-provoking subtleties adding depth to the fantastical realism genre.
Graduate of digital media production, animation, and cinematography, Castaneda partakes in the entire film production from writing, directing, editing, and composing. His accolades include winning awards for best film for Mask World (2017) and Bunny King (2019). He has been accepted in 4 international film festivals and is organizing a film convention in El Paso, TX coming September 2021.
