The story of Joe Arridy is one of sadness, ignorance, and shame. Joe was a severely intellectually disabled man, charged for a heinous crime committed against sisters- Dorothy and Barbara Drain. Woven throughout this tale were major cracks in the justice system (including coercion & false confessions), as well as inhumane terminology from the late 1930's. PRAISE BE that some things have evolved in incredible ways since that time period, but as many know, there is still A LOT of work to be done.

Dannette and Jeannette Millbrook went for a walk, making a couple of pit stops along their route. The twins vanished into thin air on this March day in 1990, never to be seen or heard from again. What followed were some unbelievable errors, incredible familial advocacy, and lots of unknowns. Join us as we tell the parts of their story that are known, as well as share a story from one of our listeners!

In March of 2011, Rebecca Coriam worked on (what some may consider a dream job)— the Disney Wonder cruise ship. Just off the coast of Mexico, a career of magic became horror when she mysteriously disappeared from the ship. Questions soon turned into theories and many were left wondering if Rebecca was involved in an accident… or if something more sinister had occurred.

In 2008- Hannah Upp was a vibrant, fun-loving, and adventurous 23-year old. A dedicated teacher, she was well-liked not only by her students, but by just about everyone she came in contact with. One morning she went for a jog & didn’t return… until she was found alive 3 weeks later. Listen this week as we discuss what happened, where she was found, and the multitude of even stranger things (LIKE MINDBLOWINGLY STRANGE) that were to follow her 2008 disappearance all the way up to 2017.

This episode dives into the drug rehab turned cult. Synanon began in the late 50’s-early 60’s, and grew to be a nightmare for most that attended. From shaved heads, to attack therapy, to a fleet of 400 motorcycles and an airstrip, Synanon became very well known to California residents. But no cult starts out as a “cult”! Find out how this rehab program on the beach was later twisted into something horrific!
