Tonight, we’re going back to the Canada binge, and episode 104, the Insane Canadian Cult, His Rest Christian Fellowship, led by sadistic cult leader, Rima Ailing. She was horrible. I recommend you go back and listen to that episode before listening to this one, if you haven’t yet.

But the story didn’t end when Ep 104 did. It went on for another 20 years, and I’m joined tonight by Desti, who was born into this cult to the Haywards, who talked about (Not very nicely) in Ep 104. She is Nate’s little sister.

She bravely tells her story about growing up in the cult in its second chapter, and in many ways, the second chapter was worse than the first. BUT, this story has the most satisfying end of any cult story I’ve ever heard.

Desti is amazing, and I admire her. So, once again, buckle up for an insane story, but at least this one has a happy ending.

Hey, everybody….I’ve done something that I regret. A couple months ago, I released an interview with Peter John Ross, who made a documentary called Social Media Monster. I watched the doc, and I was sucked into the story. I did the interview a day or two later. The doc is very well made, and the subject of the doc is Matthew Berdyck.

Matthew contacted me several times, asking to tell his side of the story, and I ignored him. He wasn’t tearing up my social media, or trolling me online, like you would expect him to do after watching the doc. I started thinking that this wasn’t fair.

But, one of my OG listeners messaged me, saying that she also didn’t think it was fair in a case like this to only present one side, especially with Matthew requesting to come on. I love my listeners. They keep me honest.

That made me feel even worse about it. Like if someone made a documentary that painted me in a negative light, You can bet I’d want to tell my side of the story. And to be ignored when I tried to tell my side mof the story would have really pissed me off.

I do not have a dog in this fight, and this isn’t me taking a side. This is me being fair as a TRUE CRIME podcaster to both parties involved, and in the future, I won’t be doing that type of feature again, where I’m forced to either take one side, or have both parties on. I have nothing against Peter John Ross, although if I had thought more about it when he contacted me, I probably would have declined

Author, Willis Morgan was in the Sears in Hollywood, FL on July 27, 1981, where he had a disturbing encounter with a strange and creepy man. He watched the man go into Sears, and to the toy department. Later that day, when the news reported that a young boy, Adam Walsh had been abducted, Willis knew it had to be that guy who did it.

Keith Hunter Jesperson aka The Happy Face Killer was a Canadian born US Serial killer. He was a long haul truck driver, and used that occupation as a cover for his hobby. He had an abusive father, who he blamed for his issues. He would taunt the police and media with detailed letters about his murders. He ultimately turned himself in when he knew the jig was up, but not before killing at least 8 women.

In a plot twist, when his first murder was discovered, a woman, who was allegedly in an abusive relationship tried to frame her boyfriend for the murder, and wound up implicating herself for it, and both people served 5 years for a murder that they did not commit. When Keith confessed, they were let out.

Jerry Brudos had issues. Born to a mother who made it known that she hated him because he wasn't born a girl, he never stood a chance. He started with his shoe obsession at 5 years old innocently enough, but his mothers reaction to it, combined with losing the only 2 people who cared about him in a matter of months, his obsession escalated.

He began stealing shoes, and before too long, his obsession would grow to include women's undergarments along with the shoes. He began to have an urge to dominate women, which would lead to sexual assault, and later to murder. As an adult, he assaulted women, which led to a rape, before he killed 4 women, attempted to kidnap 2 more. He would take pictures of the women in distress, and in death, and he would rape the corpse too.

This is the longest CKCB episode to date, but its also one of the most entertaining. Plus, Dick Darwin, Dallas Detective makes his best appearance yet.
