Ok, we weren't living under rocks. Both Paul and I knew about how Jared from Subway got busted for messing with kids. But that's ALL we knew prior to doing this episode. We didn't know the sheer evil and depraved monster that hid behind the all American good guy image that he and Subway put in front of the cameras.

We cover how he went from being extremely morbidly obese to becoming slim, rich and famous using the so called Subway diet. He was so famous that even famous people wanted to be seen with him. He was on every TV multiple times a day, and he became a very well paid and popular motivational speaker, while he and Subway laughed all the way to the bank.

We also meet a courageous woman who Jared revealed his true nature to, causing her to launch a crusade to bring him down. This ruined her life. We also cover how his #1 man became an enabler, supplying Jared with all the forbidden treasures he wanted, and how this ultimately led to his downfall.

He used his charity to fund his adventures. He flaunted how he was able to get away with his depravity, and if he hadn't been caught, he'd still be doing it, and who knows what it would have escalated to. Subway even tried to cover it up at first.

He literally thought he was bulletproof, but luckily, he was taken down. So, join us. Grab a soda and a Jersey Mikes, or Firehouse Sub or a Pub Sub. Anything but a Subway sub, and get ready for an intense episode about one of the sickest pukes we've ever covered. But, there are palate cleansers along the way to lighten the mood, and we are able to ridicule him.

We also go much deeper into Factor X, and his delusions, and we cover his decades long hiatus, as well as what happened that baited him back onto the scene, the idiotic puzzles and boxes he sent to the police, more letters for Paul to struggle through, his obsession with three, and other serial killers, his wannabe book, and a little piece of technology that would lead to his totally comedic downfall, and finally, his confession, trial, imprisonment, and a possible account of some ‘Karenesque’ misbehaving in prison.

We also cover 2 of the murders that Dennis is strongly suspected in, and whether or not we think he is guilty of them.

And, as promised, the Dennis Rader Haikus, spelled H-Y-K-O-O in 3-6-3 format.

In the end, Dennis Rader got what he wanted. National infamy. But, he didn’t get it how he wanted. Towards the end, he began to realize that whether he got caught or not, people would know that Dennis Rader was BTK.

Tonight, we dive into part one of the BTK reboot. We swore we’d never redo BTK, but we’d been thinking about it, and teasing it. So now, here we are. The original horrible series was 2 parts. This one will be 3 parts.

In part one, we discuss Dennis Rader’s childhood, into adult life, as well as his inspirations to become a killer and his sick fantasies. Factor X is also discussed. We get to his first 2 murders in part 1. And, if that wasn't enough, we cover his first communications to the newspaper, when he first starts fishing for attention. Paul has the misfortune of reading those letters. 

Finally, we wrap part 1 up by discussing his movements in between his second and third murders.

Back in May, 2023, we did a potpourri episode, called The Last Meal. We listed a bunch of condemned people, and the sometimes extravagant, sometimes disgusting, sometimes boring choices that these death row inmates chose for their last meals.

You awesome listeners really dug in and ate that episode up! Now, Paul and Bill are back for a second helping! (See what I did there?) And, they go back and forth, swapping the stories.

Part one had a case that wound up being covered on its own episode. 'Mad Dog' Marion Albert Pruett. And what a crazy episode that was.
