  • Ep 1096 - Football Questions with Taylor Lehman from Bite-Sized Bison
Our friend Taylor Lehman stops by the show and talks some IU football. We extend the discussion from the last podcast about culture shifts in football programs, plus we talk about the transition process for players coming from G5 programs to power progarms. We also discuss our reflections on Indiana's spring game, the roster moves made since then, and the current state of the depth chart at defensive back, defensive line, wide receiver, and more. Finally we tackle a bunch of questions from the audience, including breakdowns of recruiting process, the schedule, and more.

  • Ep 1095 - Off-Season Concepts
On this episode of CrimsonCast, Scott and GC start by talking through the varying perspectives in the fan base and the donor base about IU men’s basketball. We discuss the success that IU has had in the transfer portal this off-season, the still-existing split among fans regarding their attitudes towards the program, and what the parameters of success for IU might be this upcoming year.

We also talk some IU football, breaking down the on-paper success that Cignetti and his staff have had so far and how much of that is likely to translate to on-field success.

Finally at about the 58 minute mark we tackle some IndyCar related items - the Penske suspensions, the qualifying format for the 500, and the overall vibe of the series headed into its most important weekend of the year.

  • Ep 1093 - Spring Recap and Overview
The doctor returns from a hiatus to dive into some IU basketball and football content. We look at the developments on the men's basketball roster since mid-April, the projections and predictions starting to come in from various corners of the college basketball analytics community about the team, and what the big questions are that need to be answered. We also talk about the surprising news that Creighton is pulling out of Atlantis this year, where they are headed, and what it might mean for the college basketball landscape.

Attention then pivots to football where we discuss the attention being given to IU football from across the social media landscape, the talent ratings of the various positions on the roster, and how that might correlate to success in the fall. We also discuss some truly gamebreaking trends going on with college football rosters across the landscape and why the NCAA needs to figure something out quickly.

  • Ep 1089 - Courtney Cronin of ESPN
GC welcomes Courtney Cronin, IU alumna and ESPN Chicago Bears reporter, to the podcast. We talk about her background as a Chicago-area native, her time at Indiana as a student and media member, and her gradual progression through the sports media landscape before reaching the Worldwide Leader in Sports.

At the 28:00 minute mark we talk about NFL draft coverage, the environment in Chicago surrounding the team, and the ways in which local knowledge helps coverage.

The show goes pretty deep into work-life balance, the sports media grind and the sorts of things that go through the minds of the people who cover the games. We talk about Courtney's experiences on Around The Horn, her proximity to the filming locations of The Bear, and why JJ McCarthy is getting talked about as a top six pick. Plus we talk about a bunch of other things! It was a wide-ranging conversation that I thoroughly enjoyed, hopefully you will too.
