After a week of recriminations and self-doubt, Indiana football needed a get-well game to feel better about themselves and demonstrate to an eager fan base that the season still has promise and potential. They mostly accomplished both goals in their 56-14 thrashing of Idaho, thanks to a dialed-in defense and a special teams performance that ranks as one of the best in program history.

Did the win solve all of the questions around this team? No, and that will likely be the source of conversation and debate throughout the next week as the Hoosiers prepare for one of their biggest non-conference home games in recent memory. But several questions were answered, and that should allow the team and its fans to enjoy the week. We talk about our impressions from all three phases of play, discuss some of the implications from the game, and also discuss the game day atmosphere and overall vibe from the first restriction-free game on Indiana's campus in 22 months.

The description says "Idaho Preview" but in reality we're still talking a great deal about the result at Iowa and what that says about Indiana football's current status. Is it panic time? Did we learn anything from this week's press conferences? Should there be concern at the number of national pundits who are expecting IU to lose two of their next three games?

We welcome Evan Gerike from the Indiana Daily Student for the first part of this episode, and we recap the Iowa loss while evaluating what went right and wrong. We field a couple of questions from the audience, then talk about Idaho's bizarre QB situation among other things.

Scott then joins the podcast and we answer some more of your questions, including trying to ascertain what kind of an outcome would be positive for IU coming out of this weekend's matchup.

Well, that could have gone better. A boisterous group of IU fans voyaged to Iowa City this weekend to watch the ranked Indiana Hoosiers take on the Hawkeyes. Many fans and pundits have tipped this team for great things, yet on Saturday it was Iowa that looked like the actual contenders, while Indiana never even got things started. It was a very disappointing performance, and Tom Allen and company have a significant amount of work to do between now and next week.

Scott and Galen discuss the gameday atmosphere, what went wrong for Indiana, what the biggest areas of concern appear to be, and what if anything this says about the rest of the season for IU.

With so many IU fans on the road to Iowa City this weekend, we decided to connect with an expert on the area. KWOC reporter Michael Tilka is a native of Iowa, but is an alumnus of Indiana University and covered the football team for multiple seasons during his time at IUSTV.

Michael and Galen chat about the gameday atmosphere at Kinnick Stadium, the setup in Iowa City as far as eating and drinking are concerned, and some of the best places to consider going. We also talk about the matchup between IU and Iowa, and get some insights about what to expect from the Hawkeyes coming into this year.
