CrimsonCast

Scott @CrimsonCast317 is joined by Andy Bottoms @AndyBottoms from The Assembly Call to take a measured approach at the Mike Woodson hiring. Why we should be excited and why there are real concerns to think about.

News broke quickly on Sunday and now Mike Woodson is set to become IU's next men's basketball coach, with Thad Matta in an executive supporting role within the athletic department. We podcast our reactions in real-time and discuss the positives and negatives of this move.

They talk about how IU really has a tradition of changing traditions (before Coach Knight) and how the new coach should approach IU's traditions.

And in case you haven't heard, IUBB is looking for a new Basketball Coach, so they talk about some candidates.

Enjoy the interruptions by James (Scott's Son) and Chris's fire alarms (we all hope the pork chops were okay).

The co-hosts are back to talk IU coaching search news --- or the lack thereof. We talk about why the lack of news isn't as big of a deal as it might seem, why a well-managed coaching search is strangely problematic in the social media era, and why we really don't know much of anything after a week. We also take your questions about candidates, timing, and strategy.

We welcome Andy Wittry back to the podcast to talk about the weekend developments (or lack thereof) in the coaching search and evaluate some of the candidates in more depth. Are people unnecessarily freaking out about some of the names being floated? How much, if any, credence can the online fanbase put in what's being trafficked on social media? We dive into all those topics, plus give some thoughts on Matta, Woodson, and Beard as candidates.

Scott @CrimsonCast317 is joined by James Turner @Hooosierdocious and Galen to discuss some IU Coaching props, before diving into value and options for betting the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

I'll cut to the chase, we start the Brad Stevens talk at the 39 minute mark. Some great stuff before and after, but totally get it if you just want to go straight to that.

Mike Miller of Crimson Quarry joins us once again! We talked for an hour about IU basketball. You'll enjoy the actual conversation much more than you'd enjoy reading a more comprehensive description of the conversation.

They discuss how 16th century Italian art effected post modern culture............Yea, no.

They take some time to unpack the Archie Miller era, recap how Scott Dolson is handling this transition process & discuss how the coaching search feels suddenly very narrow. They also discuss Brad Stevens (He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named)

Longtime podcasting friend and college basketball genius Zach S joins us on the podcast to talk through all the major IU coaching candidates. Zach reveals his misgivings about Stevens to IU, gives us his Homerun Hire Top Four, and even discusses the inactive candidates! Zach brings a key voice to the proceedings --- that of a huge college hoops fan who is not an Indiana fan --- and the breakdowns here may have you thinking differently about your order of preference for the hire.
