When Joshua and the Israelites were faithful to keep God's commands in their conquest of the Promised Land, God kept his promise to fight for them. God wants to fight for us too. On Wednesday we reenter the story of Joshua and watch God seal the fate of the southern part of the Promised Land. Join us to see how God fights for us when we follow His leading.
At minimum, there’s two sides to every situation: ours and the Lord’s. Usually we see just one side clearly, but true wisdom only comes from trying to see both sides. How do we get to where we can do that? Join us this Sunday as we learn together how to allow the Lord to direct our steps into the life we were always meant to live.
In a world like we live in, nothing is simple. At least, that’s how we feel most of the time. Jobs, families, entertainment, politics, people-- most days, they all feel a little complicated and demand wisdom and energy to navigate. When life feels exhausting, we long for simplicity. Proverbs offers us relief from the complexity of daily life; its simple truth and straightforward wisdom give us a refresh on the things that really matter for living our best possible life. Bring friends and family, join us this weekend for our next message in the book of Proverbs, and learn how good it feels to make life "simple" again.
God can do anything. We're quick to believe in his power in Bible stories or in the lives of others, but when we're faced with impossible circumstances or obstacles that seem insurmountable, we struggle to believe God would actually do the impossible in our own lives. Ironically, God's favorite situations to demonstrate his power are the ones that appear impossible to us. This Wednesday, join us as we witness the God of endless possibilities accomplish his purposes and plans against all odds, for his glory and our good.
At its core, the book of Proverbs is wisdom from a parent to a child. Parents can take the big themes of Proverbs, put them in their own words, and constantly teach them to their children. One of the big themes from Proverbs has to do with the path of our life. Simply said, we are each on a path; that path has a direction and a destination. Truly understanding this can change everything in our life.
Our God is a talking God - a God who communicates with us and who creates by his words. Made in his image, our words, too, either give life or death to other people. The book of Proverbs reminds us our communication is also one of God’s favorite ways to communicate Himself on earth, which makes our words an even greater responsibility. Join us this weekend as we learn to steward our words for the glory of God and the good of other people.
You’d think the children of Israel would have learned by now: when you don’t seek God’s will first, there’s no guaranteeing what will befall you. When we encounter the Israelites in Joshua 9, they are undefeated. But then a neighboring people group, the Gibeonites, comes up with a deceptive plan to avoid destruction at the hands of Joshua and Israel, and everything changes. Join us Wednesday to find out what happens next - and why we should always make sure our plans are God’s plans.
