Crossroads - Weekend Messages

As the children of Israel continue their preparation to enter the Promised Land, we see a recapitulation of all the offerings: daily, Sabbath, monthly, as well as all the special festivals. All of these point to Jesus, who is the fulfillment of the sacrificial system!

As we come to the end of this powerful series in Esther, we are excited to look back at her story. What lessons have we learned and what truths have we uncovered? As we close this amazing book, the remarkable truths we have uncovered will come to light in a fresh way.

This chapter is all about succession. First, it deals with the case of the succession of the land of a father who had no sons. Second, it deals with the next leader of the children of Israel. God had already prepared Joshua to succeed Moses in leading the children of Israel.

The book of Esther has taught us much about God's desire to use us where we are. Now the story really comes to a head: it's the day of reckoning. Will God's people be destroyed? Or will they overcome? What does that mean for us today? This message teaches us all about God's deliverance.

As we begin our final series in the book of Numbers called, “Preparation,” we see that the children of Israel are now on the edge of the Promised Land. Between the end of Numbers and the entire book of Deuteronomy, the children of Israel are receiving their final instructions before they can take the land that God had promised them. But first, it was important to know who was in their company. So they take the second census of the book of Numbers.

Solomon says, "a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." But many times it's easier to say the wrong thing than the right thing. You wish you could take back something you said, right after the words left your mouth. Wanna see that change? God shoots straight with everyone in his Word, and this message will help you find the keys to positive communication and become a person who speaks life into your relationships.

God’s timing is, well, God’s timing...not our timing. One of the greatest struggles in life is that God’s timetable is different than ours. It's hard to trust Him. But the eyes of faith tell us that God’s timing is always perfect. In Esther 6-7, Haman concocted a plan to destroy the Jewish people, but God had another plan. And in divine irony, God demonstrated that His timing is perfect. God has a perfect plan for your life, too! This message teaches us how to lean on God, so you can experience the radical blessings He has planned for you.

King Balak could not get the prophet Balaam to curse the children of Israel. But Balaam ended up giving Balak some counsel on how to tempt the children of Israel to fail. As we close out our Wilderness series, watch what happens and the dire consequences of rebellion.

Esther was a daughter of God taking a major step of faith. Not only that, she needed some heavenly wisdom to guide her. A woman who is full of faith and wisdom is unique, and God used that to save His people. Watch and learn how he can use you too!

Imagine seeing a full grown adult wearing a onesie, over a diaper, with a pacifier in his mouth. That’s just wrong, right? The writer of Hebrews must have felt the same when he discovered what should have been full-grown Christians still living as spiritual newborns--as if faith in Jesus was the end of the journey, not just the beginning. If you’re going to experience the life God created you for, you’ve gotta spit out that pacifier and move toward maturity!
