We have all been through a harrowing breakup or two, but divorce is different. You can’t just cut the cord and walk away: Often, the breakup is drawn out - as a result, the pain runs deep. Many times, children are involved. Assets need to be split and lives uprooted. It goes without saying that ending a marriage can make you rethink everything you thought you knew about love - and sometimes, even, yourself. But, it shouldn’t prevent you from finding happiness with a new person.
Before getting back out there, the most important thing to do is address your own recovery. Can you start dating while still going through the divorce, or is there a certain amount of time you should wait? How do you know you're ready to move on? To answer these questions and offer other post-divorce dating do's and don'ts, I speak with Carla Stotts, who has been through it all. She shares her experience, how she was able to set non-negotiables for her subsequent relationships, and her biggest regret. If you are thinking of getting back into the dating scene after a divorce, this episode is for you!
