Episode 50! This definitely calls for a celebration, and I have chosen to celebrate our 50th episode in a special way!

I have officially launched the Opulent Outcomes Society Facebook Group.

In addition to celebrating the 50th episode, I am also celebrating the beginning of my journey into one of the biggest and scariest changes in my life. Tomorrow marks exactly one year since finding out I was being laid off.

To say this was a blessing in disguise would be an understatement.

The past year has pushed me to grow in ways that I never thought I needed or were possible. 

You couldn’t have told me the trials and tribulations I would face in the past year.  You also couldn’t have convinced me of the accomplishments either.  In spite of it all, I have never once wanted to quit.

Life often forces you into situations to propel you forward because they are so scary you wouldn’t go into them on your own...this is the FIRE. 

When it happens to you, and it will to all of us.  GROW through the fire.  On the other side of it IS bliss.

When we think about intimate relationships, most of us think first of intimacy between partners or friends. But there is a unique kind of intimacy that women rarely practice - self intimacy. Each of us must find time to sit and to simply “be” in our own skin. The point of healthy self intimacy is to provide a space to explore the pieces of yourself that you treasure or that you wish you could change.

In today's episode, I speak with Tiffynee Terry-Thomas, a spiritual transformational life coach, relationship coach, and clinical sexologist. Tiffynee believes that if you're not having wholesome relationships, there's a possibility that you're probably not having good sex. So much of who we are as adults is formed by the experiences that we had while growing up. In today’s episode, I am joined by two of my business friends. The myth of Black women is that we are impermeable. The image of the strong African American woman – resilient, driven to succeed, devoted to those around her – is rooted in generations of history. Many women see it as a proud legacy that helps shield them from the insults of entrenched discrimination.

But health-wise, that shield might be a double-edged sword. This narrow lens has created a dis-ease in our way of being.
