The Call of Jeremiah - Jeremiah 1

In this sermon, we listened to the call of Jeremiah, wherein we were reminded that those whom God calls, He also graciously enables and equips. Though Jeremiah felt weak and seemingly unqualified, God assured him of His presence and gave him the strength and words needed for his calling. Likewise, God strengthens us in our weakness, and ultimately equips us through His Word to fully and faithfully serve Him.

"Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 1:8)

Is He The Christ? - John 7:32-52

In this sermon we were reminded that Jesus is truly the Christ because He has already died, risen again, and sent the Holy Spirit. Though the Pharisees sought to kill Him, their opposition could not, in any way, prevent God’s plan of redemption. Instead, Christ willingly fulfilled His saving work at the appointed time, resulting in the accomplishment of the salvation for His people."On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”" (John 7:37-38)

Upright Ones Confess - Psalm 32

In this sermon we were reminded that the upright are forgiven sinners who humble themselves before God and confess their sins. This is because God gives His people understanding of their sinful condition, and teaches them to trust fully in His steadfast love. Indeed, genuine blessedness is not found in hiding our sins, but in bringing them honestly before God. And as undeserving recipients of His grace, we should therefore humble ourselves, confess our sins, and seek to walk in His ways at all times"Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!" (Psalm 32:10-11)

The Faithful Laborer - 1 Thessalonians 2:17-20

Through it, we saw how Paul deeply loved and longed for the believers in Thessalonica, even when he was separated from them. Although Satan hindered his plans to visit them, Paul remained committed to serving His people. Thus, we were reminded that faithful labor means loving God's people, standing firm against opposition, and continuing to serve while looking forward to Christ's return. The people we faithfully serve for Christ will one day be our joy and glory when He comes finally."For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? When His teaching became difficult, many disciples turned away from Him. Great Examples of Faith - Hebrews 11:8-22

In this sermon we were encouraged to see that genuine faith obeys God's call even when the path is laden with uncertainties. But also, that it fixes its hope on the heavenly city prepared by God, and confidently rests in His covenant promises. Their lives of the aforementioned ones testify that faith is not merely believing in present blessings, but persevering in confidence in God's eternal purposes, knowing that He is always faithful to fulfill every promise He has made."But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city." (Hebrews 11:16)
