Bruce had spent at least six months planning the attack, even ordering a custom made Santa suit that had pockets to hold ammunition. How the Boulder PD Made The Jonbenet Case Unsolvable: In this episode, Lillian goes over the mistakes, negligence, and malice of the Boulder police department in one of the most famous unsolved murder cases in American History. Six year old Jonbenet Ramsey was murdered either on Christmas of 1996 or the day after. A ransom note was found on the staircase in her home by her mother at 5:30am. Jonbenet's body was found in the basement of the home at 1:30-1:40pm by her father. Listen how Boulder PD failed to secure the crime scene, allowing it to be contaminated and then narrowed their focus so hard on ONE suspect that they failed to seriously consider any other leads. There's so much misinformation in this case, including flat out lies by Boulder PD to the press that it's hard to know what REALLY happened.

Ronald Gene Simmons had a big family. He set his sights on his eldest daughter after his wife could no longer provide him children. He fathered a child from that assault, though his daughter was able to escape his clutches...for a while. His wife endured a marriage full of control and abuse and made it known, in early December, that she would be divorcing Ronald. Ronald retaliated by killing anyone and everyone who had wronged him, including his grandchildren. In 1987 on December 22 through the 28th, Ronald killed a total of sixteen people in Arkansas, most of them his own children and grandchildren. We go deep into this disturbing case that hit a little too close to home.

Albert Fish had a rough start. At the age of five, his mother, due to circumstance and poverty, had to place Albert in an orphanage. There, he experienced horrific abuse. Abuse, that he came to enjoy. He went on to terrorize and abuse any child he was able to lure away from prying eyes. Join us as we discuss Albert Fish, one of America's worst, most brutal cannibal serial killers. This is the last episode of cannibal month! Next month? Murders that happened on Christmas!

Willy Pickton is one of Canada's most prolific serial killers. He turned his pig farm into a house of horrors, killing sex workers and those struggling with addiction. He also chose First Nations women because of the RCMP's lack of care and concern due to their overt systemic racism. Pickton also confessed to butchering the woman like the hogs on his farm and putting them into sausage that he sold locally. Some witnesses that have come forward have even implicated the RCMP in a massive conspiracy in trafficking and murdering women. Join us as we explore this case. Special guest? Yes! Meriweather, Lillian's husband joins the Cruel Tea Party.

Highway 16, a 250 mile stretch of road in British Columbia, Canada is deadly to First Nation women. Due to systemic racism and misogyny, the murders along this highway have gone unsolved and unchecked since 1969. Lillian covers this to bring awareness.

This was a very emotional episode. I am still reeling and hurting. I would like us all to donate to a couple causes this year. Let's bring their mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and cousins home. NO MOTHER should have to dig through the cold mud looking for the bones of their child.

This holiday season, please consider donating to:

https://www.csvanw.org/donate

https://www.warriorwomen.org/

I've included links to Indigenous peoples' podcasts and blogs and sites where you can donate and help. Let's end the violence against ALL indigenous women. It's up to us. Thank you all for listening to a cause that is important to me. <3- Lillian

Armin Meiwes seemed like your average man. All his neighbors said he was shy, but friendly enough. He kept his lawn mowed. But hidden behind the facade of suburban civility lay a dark, terrible secret. As a child, Armin became obsessed with the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel, fantasizing about fattening up and eating someone.

In March of 2001, that's exactly what he did. In cannibal fetish message boards online, Armin posted a personal ad. He wanted a young, handsome man to agree and consent to being killed and eaten.

This case raised a lot of interesting points. Is it morally wrong to kill someone if they want you to? Is it wrong to cannibalize their corpse if that's their desire?

Did Armin deserve the sentence he got? Join us as we delve into the dark world of cannibal fetishes, murder, and video tape.

Omaima Nelson was born into intense poverty in Cairo Egypt where she, at the age of seven, was forced to endure female g*nital mutilation. This forever shaped her life. She went on to marry a rich man and fled to the US. They divorced shortly after. She worked as a model, doing what she could to survive until she met 'larger than life' Bill Nelson. After fighting all during a drive to and from visiting Bill's family at Thanksgiving, Omaima snapped and killed him. She then proceeded to cannibalize his remains.  Willow covers this case way deeper than anyone else has before! At Cruel Tea we don't just read the Wikipedia article, we go far beyond that.
