Ryan Leonard, introduced from the bench, nodded in a stoppage-time equaliser from a corner to force extra tension. In the penalty shootout, debutant goalkeeper Walter Benítez proved decisive, saving two penalties as Palace won the tie 4-2 and advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
