CU Buffs Daily

The Buff basketball team’s road and turnover woes continued last night in Los Angels as CU dropped a Pac 12 Conference game to USC! Senior George King led the Buffs with 21 points and nine rebounds, but CU turned the ball over 22 times resulting in 25 Trojan points. The Buffs have a couple of days off before battling UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. And Voice of the Buffs Mark Johnson tells us about the CU Ski Team earning some weekly honors on the slopes in the Buffs Daily.

The men’s basketball team looks to continue the momentum built up by beating the Arizona schools on the road against the LA schools. Up first tonight is a game at USC. Hear from coach Tad Boyle. The Buffs were named the NABC national team of the week this week and former Buff Derrick White is back in Boulder for a couple days this week as the San Antonio Spurs visit Denver. Mark Johnson caught up with him. The women’s basketball team returns home this week with USC on Friday and UCLA on Sunday. The ski team took the lead at the Montana State invitational, moving up from fourth after the first day.

McKinley Wright IV earned the Pac-12 Player of the Week honor, the first freshman ever to earn the honor for the Buffs. He helped the men’s basketball team to wins over No. 4 Arizona State and No. 14 Arizona last week. Hear from McKinley. Coach Tad Boyle talks about the Buffs, who went from losing the conference openers at the Oregon schools to being the darlings of the college basketball world this week. “It’s sports!” The Buffs head to the LA schools, USC Wednesday and UCLA Saturday, this week. The women’s basketball team will return home after a split against the Washington schools this week. Tad also needs your help in a vote. Voice of the Buffs Mark Johnson explains

The men’s basketball made the college basketball world take notice over the weekend. After beating No. 4 Arizona State Thursday, the Buffs knocked off No. 14 Arizona State on Saturday. Hear from coach Tad Boyle and Dallas Walton after his huge game. The Buffs now head to the LA schools this week. The women’s basketball team earned a split against the Washington schools. The Buffs beat Washington on Sunday afternoon, breaking a nine-game losing streak against the Huskies. Hear from coach JR Payne. Ola Johansen won the men’s GS race and Tonje Trulsrud finished second in the women’s race as the Buffs are in fifth after the first day of the Montana State Invitational.

Coach Mike MacIntyre hired Kurt Roper to replace Brian Lindgren as the quarterbacks coach. Mark Johnson sat down with Roper to get to know him better. Roper tutored Eli Manning at Ole Miss and Thaddeus Lewis at Duke. The men’s basketball team returns to the court tonight to host No. 4 Arizona State at the Coors Events Center. Hear from coach Tad Boyle. The women’s basketball team hits the road this weekend for the first time in conference action at the Washington schools.

The men’s basketball team hosts a pair of ranked teams this week, in the second week of Conference action, as No. 4 Arizona State and No. 14 Arizona both visit the Coors Events Center. Hear from coach Tad Boyle on the difference between the Buffs two losses at the Oregon schools last weekend. The women’s team heads to the Washington schools. Hear from coach JR Payne. The ski team gets 2017 underway with the Nordic team participating in the US Cross Country Ski Championships in Alaska starting tomorrow. The Pac-12 struggled in bowl games, going a combined 1-8 in games.

It’s signing day for football, a new date seven weeks earlier than the normal early February date. Check out CUBuffs.com for more.  There will be another signing day on February 7 and the Signing Day Celebration will take place on February 8. Phillip Lindsay was named the Colorado Chapter of the NFF Colorado Offensive Player of the Year.  The men’s and women’s basketball teams both have their final non-conference games upcoming, the women will play Westminster (Mo.) on Thursday at the Coors Events Center. Hear from coach JR Payne. The men will wrap up non-conference play in a neutral site game against Iowa in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Hear from coach Tad Boyle.
