After the heaviness of the last two weeks, your favorite cousins decided to explore some brighter history of our home state. Pioneers in two different areas of Oklahoma history, lawman Bass Reeves and Civil Rights Activist Roscoe Dunjee paved the way for many Oklahomans. Bass Reeves helped bring down the lawless as the first African American Marshall in Oklahoma, and maybe the entire US. Roscoe Dunjee was a self-taught newspaper man, whose life goal was to improve the advancement of other African Americans in his home state of Oklahoma. As editor and chief of the first African American newspaper in OKC, "Black Dispatch". Dunjee used his platform to bring awareness to the different plights people of color were (and many still are today) up against. We hope you enjoy this fascinating dive into early Oklahoma history! 

Are you ready for the trial of the century? February 1975 saw just that in Enid, OK! This week, Tiff concludes the two-parter Thrasher Family Murders case with a closer look at Bobby Wayne Collins’ life and the many tales he spun for law enforcement, the judge, and jury. With a high-profile defense attorney named Steven Jones and the evidence with the state seeming to be minimal, the prosecution had their work cut out for them. The goal was justice though, for this innocent, happy family of 4. If you haven’t caught up on Episode 23, go listen to that first before jumping in on Episode 24. Things that go bump in the night? That seems to be the norm at these two places in Oklahoma! Is there anything more kooky or spooky than abandoned places? We didn't think so! This week's episode, your favorite cousins explore some abandoned places here in our Great State; Eagle Park Amusement Park in Cashe and Dunjee School in Spencer. Each have vivid and interesting pasts, but their futures are bleak. While funds are trying to be raised to save Eagle Park, Dunjee School has burned, and its future is unknown.

In part 1, of this two-part series, Jess tells us all about one of Oklahoma's most notorious unsolved murders...the murder of rancher EC Mullendore III. Spoiler...Jess will leave you hanging on a cliff! Mullendore was a well-known rancher in Northeastern Oklahoma. On September 26, 1970, Mullendore was brutally beaten and shot in the head. Only one person is known to have been in the home and witnessed events of that evening...Damon "Chub" Anderson.  But his story is rather...kooky...
