Hebrews 1:3 …He upholds all things by the word of His power,

Hebrews 12:2 if we lose the focus of Jesus, we lose the power of our faith

Where we choose to focus is where we win or lose as it comes to our faith and our purpose

Focus is everything

Eph 1:18 Where our heart is focused is where our xyz is going to be

Why does God let us or allow us go through the problem

-To gain strength. The next time we see that problem we know most of the answer…though we may not like it

-Paul is 

Somehow Paul was able to gain spiritual strength though some of the most infeasible problems

God’s righteousness completely surrounds us

Eph 6:10-11 Finally my brethren be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might

Having done all to stand, therefore stand

God is looking to co-labor with us..so the devil is looking to fight anyone who takes a stand

Acts 16:22 then the multitude rose up against them.; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods.

-and when they laid many stripes on them into inner prison and fasted their feet in the stocks.

Paul and Silas began to do harp and bowl (Rev5:8)

-And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.

Phillipians 4:11 -I can do all things through Christ who strengthens you

God wanted to do something through Paul instead of to Paul. Paul was able to follow that lead by the plan of God. How?

Exodus 13:

God doesn’t often take us around the conflict

Because and as He has equipped us to win the conflict

-For they did not understand (Jesus disciples) because their hearts were hardened (about the leaven)

What hardened their hearts…(ours too)

Beware of the leaven of—which is a mindset

When we hold back thanksgiving we hold back our understanding and our faith

Rom 1:xy Professing themselves to be wise they became fools

-how do we get in the front door? With thanksgiving and praise

Our enemy combats us with lies and excuses to make the problem seem way bigger than it turns out to actually be

Prov 16:2 All the ways of man are pure in his own eyes, but God weighs every matter by the spirit

If you’re in His word, God wants you to declare what needs to be done

Often times half-way through we run into opposition that discourages us from accomplishing what God told us to do. So we face decisions we must make. Do we go back, stay there take the abuse or get killed, or move forward?

2 things that can weaken our Spirit

Bitterness and disappointment

Navigating through tough times can be done

1Thess 5:17-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks

Acts of our will, particularly in times of weakness and uncertainty

How many of us have had impossible tasks to complete?

-You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

God many times gave the command to complete tasks that with man alone were impossible. But, he did not rescind his command.

-Are you looking for peace?

John 14:12

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Greater -means larger, stronger, better with age and over a long period of time

Acts 19:11 God moved in unusual miracles by the hand of Paul

-When the main goal of our faith is to remain safe from the devil, it diminishes God's ability to prove his power through you.

-we embrace what’s inferior instead of the superior

For God to meet your needs is not the greater works

Luke 11:1 Lord teach us to pray

The disciples already knew what prayer was, and did pray

-but they asked Him, (You Lord) teach us to pray

Our Father

God wants us to keep ahead of the steps of our enemies

We get an opportunity to come together to build up and encourage one another before we have to go back out in the world

The Leaven of the Kingdom of Heaven

-Leaven as we have learned is a mindset

Ex 6:3

He told Moses He did not make himself fully known to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

All your problems have a kingdom solution

God wants us to seek him and expect solutions as we face these problems and the answers will come

Most people's priority list

1. God

2. Family

3. Church

-No real good biblical base for this

God asked us to seek him first then all these things will be added to you

This is intended through relationship with God from an open heaven,

and a renewed mind (yours)

Words that come out of our mouths are either from either love or out of fear

We can speak words from the throne room of heaven if you’re on the right mountain and in God's will.

How will you really know?

Today's message is meat not milk and a marking stone for the church

Dealing with the Spirit of Rejection

God will give you a supernatural grace to deal with those who reject you

Rom12:1

I beseech you therefore brethren to present yourself a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,

Rom12:2 

And do not be conformed to this world,but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God.

God must violate our logic to focus on Him and what is possible

The Renewed Mind is the right path to take

Stewardship is the main key to prosperity

Faith comes not from our understanding but from our hearts

Phil4:7 The peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds

Wisdom=Creativity, Integrity, and Excellence

Jn15 I no longer call you servants but friends

There’s more room on the inside than there is on the outside (of the kingdom of God)

The straight and narrow represents Jesus and the way in (the door) to the kingdom

Narrow=Jesus

After that, we should strive to learn how to live in the Kingdom of God now. Versus exercise just enough faith to get into the kingdom

The creative power from the words and ideas of Heaven are still largely untapped

Some of the greatest ideas and inventions came from Christians..

1Sam17:37 David wanted to take out the Philistine

In Hebrew culture you were not respected as a man until you were 30 years old

David had integrity of heart

At what moment did Saul concede to David and let him try to take him out?

Through overcoming all those afflictions David became the greatest King of Israel

Saul made him (David) the man and the King he became

Most of us don’t see the point of this scripture..with one of the secrets of living in the kingdom of Heaven

Are we positioned in his presence?

Martha was standing up

Jesus was sitting down?

Mary was at his feet

-from a posture standpoint Mary was in position to carry out what Jesus wants done. Martha's head was above Jesus.

Now where are the Mary's that should get up and be (and do) what Jesus wants.

Our function changes

Are we working with him or for him?

Where we get our identity is what the father says we are; not from necessarily from what someone else says

Working from his presence is better than working for his presence. 

Anytime we take a dysfunction then spiritualize it and becomes spiritual sin. That dysfunction becomes empowered by the demonic

Hence Religion

An intellectual gospel is always dangerous that creates a god that looks like us

Let's see if we can get the right posture with Jesus and then go from there

More faith and belief is exercised for getting into the gate of the kingdom than how to live in the kingdom

Today's message is Refining Focus in Times of Trial

keeping your focus that moves through trials, temptations, and challenges.

Matt 14: 22 immediately Jesus made his disciples to go to the other side

Peter made a decision to get distracted (on the water)

But Jesus was right there to help up shortly after his faith failed

At least he got out of the boat.

He did something the other disciples didn't

How do you grow and mature?

From the tree of life (vs the tree of knowledge)

-My words are spirit and are life

God has trials and tribulations in our lives so our faith can be tried and perfected and (mature in the faith)

For those who want to be spiritually mature, "we" can’t mature without them (trials and tribulations)

-We should say the positive God things over our life so these things should come to pass (instead of focusing on the negative). 

Life and death is in the power of the tongue.

Fear short circuits our faith 

Fear will cause us to fall short

Sympathy only agrees with the problem

Compassion fixes the problem

Fear seems normal and natural, but it isn't when it comes to faith
