  • London Is Hungry
This fan-based non-profit track - free to download - is inspired by the 2018 film "Mortal Engines", based on the works of Philip Reeve.
The artwork used is concept art by Ian McQue:

  • The Hermit
There is a majestic solitude to this track, which made me think what it would be like to live somewhere in isolation that was so beautiful that you could forget that you were alone.

  • Lemon Squeezer
This started out with a couple of synths played by me in Logic Pro X, but I wanted it to be unexpected so began to introduce rock elements like the deep pulsing bass, drums, timpani and rock guitars.
The image shows the Phillip Starck Alessi lemon squeezer, which seemed to match the track perfectly.

  • Urban Droid Underclass
With the rise of narrow Artificial Intelligence (preceding General A.I at a human level) and the increased use of robots an droids, this track considers the future of work for humans and the rise of an urbanised droid underclass.

  • Foundation
It's been a long time since I created my epic "Foundation And Empire" https://soundcloud.com/dacca/foundation-and-empire track, but I thought I'd work on completing my tribute to Asimov's wonderful Foundation Trilogy.
I also completed the third track in the trilogy:

  • Magnetosphere
A chilled out acoustic space rock track, for your free download and listening pleasure!
I created the electric and acoustic guitar tracks using Apple loops, then added the synths. I hope you like it.

  • Ephemeral
Like the ice on the wire in this photograph, our lives too are ephemeral. That's what makes life so intense.

  • What Is Reality? (The Third Ontology)
I recently watched a couple of fascinating short documentaries - from Quantum Gravity Research - on the nature of reality:
    "What Is Reality?"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0ztlIAYTCU&t=8s
    "Hacking Reality"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJi3_znm7ZE
    Quantum Gravity Research (home page):
    http://www.quantumgravityresearch.org
Ontology is the philosophical study of reality. In physics, the first two ontologies on the fundamental nature of reality are Newton's deterministic "clockwork universe" (modified by Einstein) and the crazy non-deterministic randomness of Quantum Mechanics. Both are still very useful in describing aspects of reality, yet they contradict each other - is nature deterministic or non-deterministic?
To resolve what could be a false dichotomy, the Quantum Gravity Research team of physicists have gone back to basics and propose a third ontology on the nature of reality:
"A Theory of Pixelated Spacetime and of Reality as a Quasicrystalline Point Space Projected From the E8 Crystal."
I'll leave it there, but recommend both films directed by David Jacubovic and starring actress Marion Kerr (pictured). Start with "What Is Reality?"
I have no association with any of the above people or organisations. This is purely a fan-based, free piece of music inspired by them.
