  • Episode 053 - Let Us Protest Conspiracy Theories

I mean, what can you say right? The title says it all. When I think we can't be stupider, some yayhoos are like, "Hold my beer!" and make it worse.

After the break I discuss some fun stuff though. The Grammy tribute to Prince was on and it was pretty great in parts. I only say that because Usher does a horrible job (as usual) of covering His Royal Badness. A few others did really really well though. I mention, again, the George Harrison tribute show in which Prince played a guitar solo, so check out this video if you've not seen it. Amazing.

I've been listening to the Black Sabbath Ultimate Collection alot. In addition to playing in with "Fairies Wear Boots" at the beginning of the show, I've got some pictures here for you to check out of the gatefold with this collection. Pretty slick.

"Dave" continues to be a show we're watching alot of. So great from top to bottom people. In addition to Lil' Dicky being an amazing rapper, Dave Burd is an incredible writer and actor. I'm telling you that you're missing out if you're not watching this show.

Retro game emulation is a fun new hobby. If it weren't for ETA Prime, I'd be lost too. So much knowledge in this guy.

And lastly, I'm trying to figure out what to do as far as a new mower. We have a pretty large back yard (like 2.5 lots) and it takes so long to mow. I'd love to know your suggestions as far as a reasonable riding mower if you have any thoughts. Drop your words to me via email, the Facebook page, Twitter, or even right here in Anchor.fm and the leave a message option.

Thanks all and I'll see ya again next week.

  • Episode 052 - Carry On

Wow! Anyone else a little stir crazy?

Speaking of, anybody else feeling that "Rona" anxiety? I have a few times for sure. So sad it's the truth, but it is.  This little meme still makes me giggle.

But, that anxiety isn't uncommon right now. Especially with allergies flaring up in folks. I've felt it a few times myself. Hey, you should write in or leave a message if you've experienced this. If you have anything interesting or funny that's happened with you during the pandemic, either leave a message here on Anchor or there's the [email protected] or the facebook page. Shoot, you have all kindsa places. Be a part of it.

So, the usual is what I'm into right now. Been checking out some Farrelly Brothers films with the kiddos. Whoa! Pump the brakes as those are rather nasty at times. Oh well, we skip the real nasty nasty.

Listening to my entire collection right now. Here's a cool photo album I've created of all my recent spins. Check it out! Here's the Vinyl Junkies piece done about me in the newsletter.

Still reading MC Norris's Dust to Dust. You should give that a try if you like dust bowl vampire stories. It's a goody.

That's it for now kids. Stay tuned. We'll catch up again soon.

  • Episode #051 - The New Normal?

I guess that's what this is right?

Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful for what I have (family, job, food, shelter, health, etc.), but this kinda straight up sucks.

Know what else sucks? These morons. I go off a little on them at the top.

After the break I discuss various things I'm currently into. I also discuss the fact that, while Amazon (and others), are not shipping vinyl currently...the amazing group at Vinyl Junkies sure are. Go now and get some folks. They'll ship that out immediamente and you'll be spinning new gems in no time flat.

I also bring up a valuable video by Chris Cuomo on how he overcame the Coronavirus and what he feels works best accompanied by doctor's advice. Watch the video. I don't care for him too much myself, but the dude continued to broadcast every day even though stricken with the virus. That's ballsy indeed. So, if nothing else, maybe it can inspire someone out there with this. I know it inspired me.

Other than that, not too awful much going on. Oh, I did open the show with a snippet of De La Soul's "Three is the Magic Number" from Three Feet High and Rising on vinyl. Damn! What a great great record that is. 30 fricking years old also.

  • Episode 050 - The Silver Beaver Social Distancing Episode

Yeah, that's a mouthful. I know, but well described.

So, there's a bunch in this episode. I got Mikey and Dr. PP together with me over various remote platforms to shoot the shit about pretty much nothing. No real order or sense to this episode. That's just the way I like it too. The way it's supposed to be really.

There's a mashup of all our comments and stuff at the top when we were trying (for over an hour) to get a good sounding connection. Then it's off to the races with some ridiculous comments and stories. Plenty of beer drinkin' happening as well. Sorry for the echoing and all that jazz, but it's the interwebs kids. Sometimes stuff don't sound so good on thar.

    Enjoy Fools! You earned it.

P.S. I didn't do a watch giveaway because none of you punks reviewed. So, forget me giving away free stuff to you then. I'm just kidding. I can't quit you. Go write a review though dummies! Win a free watch.

  • Special Report #008 - Coronatined

Hey all, so there's an update on the upcoming Episode #050...for reals.

In addition, I talk a little about people being just plain stupid out there amid the pandemic. Stupid is as stupid does...right Forrest?

There's some good folks too. No doubt.

I cover a few things you might enjoy to pass the time during this all.

So, get in those reviews and let me know. I'm aching to give away this smart watch.

    Thanks and peace out!

  • Special Report #007 - Don't Be Like Le Chic

    And freak out folks.

Take a step back. Get some extra supplies and food, but don't hoard and be that guy.

(First off, sorry for the sound of my wiper blades scraping across the windshield.)

I talk alot about my recent gun buying experience. It was a doozy. I'm not ready to fly the rebel flag yet or declare that Libtards are causing this whole thing to make the greatest president ever look bad. I am ready to defend myself and my family though.

MintMobile has been fantastic for myself and my family. I highly suggest you check them out. You will have to own your own device or buy one that's unlocked, but the monthly costs are amazingly less money and the service is very solid. If you click here, you and I will get a perk. I'm sure we could all use a few extra bucks. Oh, and I discuss how they've offered all subscribers free data unlimited during this crisis. Has your phone provider done that?

So, be sure to go review the podcast for a chance at that smartwatch giveaway. It takes mere moments and you'll be thrilled you did it if you win or something.

I'll be back with you for more of these, probably, before I can get my homeboys together and record that 50th real episode.

    Thanks for listening!

  • Special Report #006 - Raspberry Pi-rus

I've got it folks. It's highly contagious too if you go down the rabbit hole on YouTube like I have.

But first, you'll hear how strange the whole toilet paper madness thing is to me. Of course, things have transpired since I recorded this and they've become more grave for us all. It's seriously time to "Netflix and Chill" on a whole new level.

Here, I'll get you started with some cool Raspberry Pi videos to show off just how amazing these little machines are...

    Need a cheap 'puter? https://youtu.be/KjNnieJaMNA

And then, this captivated me enough to have me buy a Pi setup of my own. It's amazing!!! https://youtu.be/qOds1UbNIsc

If you do something like this and you need that 128GB download of gaming love, let me know. I've already downloaded it and you don't wanna do so if you don't need to.

    Later,

    Kyle

  • Special Report 005 - Where's the Negra Modelo Virus?

You've all seen/heard so much about the Coronavirus over the past few weeks. This is a big deal, but we're freaking the eff out as Americans.

What's going on? What can I do? How can I stay safe? Where can I get a great Mexican beer?

I try to answer these questions and more in this special report.

Don't forget to review and send me a message about it so that you can be entered to win this snappy new smartwatch!

Wash your hands and prepare for Episode 050...coming soon!

  • Episode 049 - Living in Your Own Reality

So, this one starts out pretty rough. I will not get into specifics, but there was something posted online by a loved one that doesn't tell the story correctly. It also makes yours truly look like a total and complete monster. I'm not a monster people. I go into it a little here in the "What's Bugging Me" part of the show and it's not a happy thing.

After the break, I get into what I'm into. The trip to Chicago to see "Tim and Eric Mandatory Attendance World Tour" for my son's birthday was a total success despite me being sick as a dog just a few days prior.. If you click that link above and check out their site, beware that it's not the type of comedy that's for everyone. My wife and daughter cannot stand it, but it's something my son and I bond over.

Still getting through that rewatch of "Toast of London" for sure. Loving pretty much every minute of it. I did watch a docuseries on Netflix called "Don't F**k With Cats" and I would advise you to check it out. Pretty amazing stuff that I binged while sick at home. You like mystery type stuff...you're gonna love this. I go into the usual as far as records and music as well.

Vinyl Junkies is a big part of my free time now and I adore it. I've been able to help by editing a sizzle reel from the shows and I'll be doing some more stuff for the group really soon. You can check out some archived video episodes here. You can check out the incredibly fun Facebook page here. Finally, if you love it and wanna take part, you can join in a more financial way by visiting the Patreon page here. It's certainly not a requirement though.

I've also been listening to the podcast "Oh Myyy Pod" from George Takei and company. A recent episode called "Russian Interference" blew me away and I would advise you take a listen. Know this...it IS a left leaning podcast, but the guest on this episode is a professor in Eastern and Central European History and not biased. He's remarking on historical events and comparisons are made. Scary.

We did listen to "Edge of Dark Water" by Joe R. Lansdale on audiobook during the traveling this past weekend also. I'd read this book when it was released a few years ago, but I figured it would be of interest to my wife and the family. She adored it from beginning to end. A modern variant of Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn really. Give it a whirl.

Thats it for now. I will attempt to get the 50th episode out next week on time, but I'm kinda at the mercy of others as guests and so forth.

Be sure to rate or review the show wherever you listen and send me a screenshot or link in order to possibly win this sweet smartwatch.
