TBOL ch 6
It's time for a formal dinner! Fun, right? Let's answer this question as Lady Daemons: "Nah, Bruh." Eventually, we get to a calm period when people were able to break bread without killing each other, and that's nice -- until the ultimate party-crasher dialed it in. Yikes.
In typical fashion -- when this book is concerned -- this episode is packed! So prepare for a long ride in the wagon. We will stop for pee-breaks, but pack snacks!

Jeff Greenstein: "When Marta & David & Jeff & I did 'Dream On', we used to spend a lot of time thinking about titles, because they were on-screen at the top of each episode. TBOL ch 5
Vampires and witches having babies?! Meh, that's old news to Ysabeau. But it's new to Matthew and Diana ... and us, kind of. The secrets in this chapter have us all reeling, and it's quite a ride. This is a long one, so pack your snacks, because we have two segments with TV news! One recent, and another from about a month ago. This is a Daemon time-walk episode!

TBOL ch 4
Through a series of tussles (verbal/physical) between the head of the de Clermont family and the Grand Master of the Knights of Lazarus, we finally learn who in the family actually holds that elusive seat on the Congregation, and where the HQ is located -- REVELATION! After we've examined all of the information in front of us, we finally understand why the rag-tag group of creatures must scatter in a week's time. As we go, these chapters continue to be dense with information, so naturally the episodes are longer! Take it in bites, or gobble the whole thing! P.S. Don't be a "Karen," wear your masks, and let's get out of this mess!

Family Meeting. Time: 4 am. Place: The de Clermont library, Sept-Tours. RSVP: N/A. Be there, or else. That sums it up, doesn't it? We learn that we STILL need to learn a lot about vampires (geez, Matthew)! This is a long one, but we had some things to say . . . stay tuned during Save It For the Show. We saved plenty for the show. This is another long episode, guys; it's just going to be that way for a while, since 2020 continues to surprise and (DISMAY) delight.

* 'The Price is Right' Theme Song -- both Wikipedia and IMDb credits Edd Kalehoff as composer, but check it—Edd Kalehoff’s Wikipedia page has this line: “Composer of about 1,000 pieces…his credits include the majority of cues used on The Price is Right (although the 1972 theme is officially attributed to Sheila Cole).” -- Used as celebration music for Winning a blood vow! Get it? Oy! We know we are pushing it but, it was used as strictly PARODY! 😬 Please don't sue us!
* "Rhiannon" is a song written by Stevie Nicks and originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac on their eponymous album in 1975; it was subsequently issued as a single the following year. "Rhiannon" was voted #488 in The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. Its US chart peak was in June 1976, when it hit #11. It peaked at #46 in the UK singles chart for three weeks after re-release in February 1978.The song is referred to as simply "Rhiannon" on Fleetwood Mac albums, except on the 2003 and 2016 remasters of Fleetwood Mac and the 2018 compilation Don't Stop - 50 Years, on which the title "Rhiannon (Will You Ever Win)" is used. The single version also used this title when it was originally released to the European and American markets. For this episode's context, we claim "Fair Use"; in the text of the Trilogy it is cited that the Bishop house plays Fleetwood Mac songs at random.

Character Study - A personality episode
We're "on the tens" once again, and it's time for a character study! We thought that this would be an excellent way of handling the subject this go-around. We're revisiting our personality episode from way back when (2016), and doing a updated version; Personality 2.0, if you will. When you hear our process, you'll understand the title very well. It's pseudo science at its righteous best! We will be studying Kit, Susanna, Ransome, Fernando, Vivian, Andrew and closing out with Miriam as the headliner. We hope you enjoy listening, as much as we did recording it!

TBOL ch 2
A restless Matthew Clairmont makes the rounds and pays a few castle calls to the current residents of Sept-Tours. He's on edge, and his friends and family -- rightly -- welcome him back with wary caution. In the end, it takes Diana to bring him to his center (as he does for her). BUT, there's one family member who wonders out loud (to say the least) why Diana Bishop is harboring the blood song of his long-dead father, Philippe de Clermont. Like Matthew, the Daemons are also restless souls in this pandemic, so they take the opportunity to talk A LOT, thus, the lengthy episode! Take it in shifts, or binge it at once! No judgement! Enjoy!

* '"Dick in a Box" is the debut single by American comedy troupe the Lonely Island, featuring singer Justin Timberlake. The song and music video debuted on Saturday Night Live as an SNL Digital Short on December 16, 2006. The video depicts two early-1990s R&B ballad singers Andy (Andy Samberg) and Raif (Timberlake) crooning a holiday song about making a gift for their girlfriends of their penises wrapped in boxes (strategically placed) topped with bows. This song was featured in our episode using a 10 second clip to accompany our discussion on this SNL skit; we claim Fair Use with this clip (please don't sue us, Lorne Michaels!)

TBOL ch1
We've dusted off our copies of The Book of Life, opened it to chapter 1, and now we realize how much information this chapter actually contains! Not only do we get a glimpse of what has been going on in Sept-Tours while we were gone, but we get to see the events through different eyes, which paints a larger, more precise picture for us to study. New beginnings, indeed! Take this one in shifts, or power through the whole episode. It's one of the longer ones!

Bonus Episode
Let's take a little break to grab a snack, stretch our legs, sort ourselves out and reflect on our trip through Shadow of Night. Then we'll go on to plan our next journey by establishing a baseline predicated on our collective/individual first-read impressions of The Book of Life, prior to hitting the road! WARNING: controversial opinions (what?! Never!) live in this episode. Strap in, it may get bumpy in the wagon!
