describes behavior that seems unstable, extreme, chaotic, or emotionally out of control.

Examples:

1- She posted a 20-slide rant over a small comment. It felt unhinged.
2- His reaction was completely unhinged — way bigger than the situation.

When something “clicks,” it suddenly becomes clear. You finally understand it.

Don't twist it 

means: don’t misunderstand me, don’t change what I’m saying, don’t interpret it in a negative way.

Examples:

1- A parent told their teenager, “I’m worried about you staying out so late.” And then added gently, “Don’t twist it — I trust you. I just care about your safety.”

2- He said he needed some space for a few days. She looked hurt, so he quickly added, “Don’t twist it — I’m not leaving. I just need time to think.

Anchoring Bias

Psychologists have shown something surprising. When people are exposed to a number — even a completely unrelated one — their estimates shift toward that number.

Your brain uses the first reference point it sees and adjusts from there. But it doesn’t adjust enough. That’s the bias.

Slow down

means to reduce speed — physically or mentally — and give yourself more space, time, or calm.

Examples:

1- She didn’t change her whole life — she just started slowing down in small moments, like breathing before replying or walking instead of rushing.

2- Sometimes people don’t need advice. They just need permission to slow down
without feeling guilty.

When someone is “on the go,” they are busy, active, and moving from one thing to another, often without much rest.

Examples:

1- She usually eats lunch on the go, not because she wants to, but because there’s never enough time.

2- During the week, he’s always on the go — meetings, errands, calls, and emails. By the weekend, he just wants to slow down.

Stir the pot

means to say or do something on purpose to create tension, drama, or conflict — especially when things were already peaceful.

Examples:

1- At work, the team had agreed on a plan. But she brought up an old disagreement again, just to get a reaction. She wasn’t helping — she was stirring the pot.

2- Online, some people don’t want discussion. They want attention. So they post comments just to stir the pot.

Someone who is soft-spoken speaks quietly, calmly, and gently. They don’t need to be loud to be heard.
Examples:

1- She’s soft-spoken, but when she shares an idea, everyone listens — because she chooses her words carefully.

2- He’s a soft-spoken teacher. He explains things patiently, and his calm voice makes people feel safe to ask questions.

means to agree completely or to share the same opinion with someone about something. If you “see eye to eye” with a person, you’re both on the same page.

Examples:
1- My sister and I rarely see eye to eye on movies—she loves horror films, while I’m more into comedies.
2- Two neighboring countries failed to see eye to eye on trade agreements, causing diplomatic strain and impacting global markets.
