Trump asked Ukraine leader to 'look into' Biden
A transcript released by the US shows President Trump pressed his Ukrainian counterpart to "look into" his rival, Democrat Joe Biden.
The July 25 phone call is now at the centre of a House Democrats' impeachment inquiry.
Trump dismissed the transcript saying he is the victim of "the single greatest witch hunt in American history."
Boris Johnson says supreme court ruling is wrong
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has challenged opposition MPs to try to remove him.
He was responding to irate MPs after the UK Supreme Court ruled Johnson’s suspension of parliament was illegal.
Johnson repeated his vow to leave the EU on October 31 with or without a deal, condemning the court ruling as "wrong".
Israel’s Netanyahu tasked to form new government
Israel's President Reuven Rivlin tasked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with assembling a new government.
The move came after power-sharing talks with his rival Benny Gantz failed following an inconclusive election.
Netanyahu said his chances of success were only marginally higher than those of Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz.
Italian Alpine glacier close to collapse
A part of Europe's highest mountain, the Mont Blanc, is at risk of collapse, prompting Italian authorities to close roads and evacuate Alpine hamlets.
A section estimated to contain up to 250,000 cubic metres of ice could fall down the mountain.
Experts say the Planpincieux glacier is sliding at an increased speed.

Wazza, a young female Koala, was hit by a car while trying to cross the Pacific Highway in Australia but walked away with minor injuries.
Wazza was dragged 10 kilometres before she managed to free herself from the car’s front grille, Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
She is recovering at Port Macquarie Koala Hospital but before her release staff are trying to figure out — where did Wazza actually come from?
